Stormy Horizons – (Chapter: 5- Exploration, Pt. 2)

    Ch. 5- Exploration, Pt. 2

When we got home from the cave I immediately felt awkward. I didn’t know why, but my dad had been keeping his eye on my for the whole ride; making it very hard to do anything with Ashley in the back seat. Luckily no one else was in the back seat with us, because the other four had driven separate at my dad’s request.

When we finally got home, I let out a sigh of relief. I was glad that Ashley and I hadn’t been caught in a compromising situation. Once Ashley and I were safely in my room and sitting on my bed she blurted out “What the hell was that? I ask you because your parents were right there, but what were you doing?” She sounded more annoyed than angry.

“Nothing,” I responded, giving her an innocent look.

    “Hell no, it was something!”

“All I was doing was making a point.”

“Oh yeah,” she said, her voice losing any anger that it ever held. “And what point would that be?”

“This one,” Then I had an urge out of nowhere to plant a kiss right on her lips. She was shocked at first, but returned it almost immediately. As soon as I felt my tongue enter her mouth, she pulled away.

“I’m sorry,” she said while standing up “I can’t do this, I need to think first.”

“What’s there to think about?” There was no way I was going to let her leave without arguing.

“I… I ugh, just need to think about everything.” She then left the room without warning. I was too surprised to see her out. A few seconds later I came to my senses and decided I better make sure she at least got to her car. On my way down the stair I saw my dad talking to Ashley. I came in halfway through their conversation.

“-stay for dinner?” I heard my dad ask Ashley. I only caught the last part of his sentence.

    “I… ugh… don’t think I can, Mr. C.”

“Sure you can, it would mean the world to me Ashley.” my dad went on. No one had noticed me eavesdropping from the stairs yet.

“Well… I suppose I might be able to…” Before she could go on my dad cut her off.
