    Talking. Talking would be good.  I couldn’t take my eyes off that little bit of tan skin between her tank and board shorts.  I needed a cold shower. 

     

    “So you are ok with everything that is going on with us.” I reaffirmed.  I took a step forward toward her.  She leaned back against the kitchen counter by the sink.

     

    “Yes, very ok.” She replied.

     

    “You would tell me if I was doing something you didn’t want to do right?” I asked.  I took a few more steps toward her and braced my arms against the counter on either side of her body.

     

    “Yes, I would.” She whispered.  For the first time I saw her visibly shaken by me.  I could see her breathing quicken a little. Oh yeah, the old Spencer was back! I gave a little smile and leaned in closer yet to her. 

     

    “Ashley…” I wishpered low and gently let one of my legs slide between hers.  I shifted a bit more weight so my thigh lightly came in contact with her body.  I heard her take a quick intake of breath.  I let one of my hands drag slowly up her arm and up her neck to settle lightly on her jaw. I felt her shiver slightly.  It was a rush to know that I was able to do the same things to her as she had done to me.

     

    I leaned my head in closer.  Our lips were so close I could feel the heat between us.

     

    My phone beeped loudly and we both jumped.  In reaction I moved away and slapped the offensive noise maker of the counter and onto the living room floor.

     

    “Are you fuckin’ kidding me?!” I exclaimed laughing.  I looked back at Ashley and she was laughing too.  Our moment was killed, but I was ok with it.  I had a pretty good feeling that I would have another chance.  I grabbed her hand and pulled her away from the counter. 

     

    “Come on let’s have a glass of wine and chat out on the patio.” I said.  She picked up the glasses and I grabbed the wine.  I stopped and picked up my phone as I led her through the living room to the glass slider.
