    Ashley is hired to kill Spencer

    Spencer grabbed the keys from my hand and walked to the car without saying a single word. I had no choice but to follow meekly.

    I had no idea where we were driving to. You could hear a pin drop in the car. Things between us were so quiet, the hair on my arms was standing up. I had no idea what was going to happen; all I knew was that this was not going to be a good day.

    “You gonna tell me where we’re heading to?” I couldn’t take the silence anymore; I needed to know how much of the conversation she had heard.

    “I’m taking you to the spot I shared with Melissa, we’ll be there in an hour or so.” I looked at her face, trying to read her expression, but she was blank, showing no sign of emotion.

    “Look I don’t know how much of that conversation you heard –“

    I was interrupted, “I didn’t hear anything, I just want to take you someplace special.” She smiled at me, a smile not quite like her others. This one was forced. I coughed, a nervous cough, and nodded

    “That’s great, that sounds good!” I’ve never been afraid before – sometimes I’d get myself into tricky situations, but I always managed to survive them, and now I sat scared as hell wondering what the hell was going on with Spencer and her 180 degree personality change. I didn’t even know if I was being paranoid, for all I knew she was being completely normal and I was just freaked out over everything Paula had told me.

    Flashback

    “She killed my daughter!” Paula sniffing

    Me handing her tissues

    “Tell me that again, one more time. I’m not sure I’m with you.”

    “Spencer killed my daughter, do you blame me for wanting her dead? Eye for an eye Ashley, surely a girl like you can understand that.”

    Me trying to understand

    “Now you know why I did what I did.”

    Melissa was Paula’s daughter, not Spencer.

    A bombshell that just exploded in my head

    End of Flashback

    The car came to a halt. I wanted to get out; I wanted to run as far as my legs could take me simply because I wanted to avoid any conversation with Spencer. I wanted to go back to the beginning and forget that we ever met. I wasn’t one for confrontations, not when it came to my private life. Not that I had much of a private life.

    1. Dude, what the hell?! I love this story but now I am so confused. I can’t believe Spencer would kill Ashley, I’m shocked. I can’t wait to see where you take this. Awesome update. PMASAP!!!

    2. oh my damn, why have i like never heard of this story?!!? it’s awesome! i love the story. i hope that’s not the end, but if it is then it was a great ending, or maby you could write one more about what happened then end it i need closure. PMS!

    7. You can’t really blame Ash for her current predicament…but, just a matter of time, I suppose. She’s just been listening to her subjects and proceeding based upon the minimal knowledge she has received. Guess that’s why contract killers can never have any type of intimate relationship. Ash protected Spencer as long as possible, but we all knew it would come back to bite her in the ass. I’m assuming the last gun shot is coming from someone else, not Spencer, and perhaps the agency has caught up with both of them, and has hit Spencer before she could finish off Ashley. Just a hunch, but it seems both of them are now in deep deep shite. Great fic, glad you finally updated. Hope we won’t have to wait months for the next one ;)

    9. Dammmnnn! This was really sad. I can’t believe Spencer actually shot Ashley! Is this ending? If its over then I just want to say this story was awesome! One of my favorites. But if its continuing then that’s great!
