A helping hand and a push in the right direction-CH. 21

Tina and Dana were sitting in the kitchen going through their new morning ritual. With Dana and Alice staying at the beach house, Tina and Dana had their morning workout partner back. After exhausting themselves they’d wash up and meet back in the kitchen.

Tina was drinking her coffee and Dana was drinking the same green goop she did when she played tennis. “So Dana have you decided whether you’re going to teach at that pro tennis camp?”

“I really do miss competing, and I think it would be good for me to teach.” Dana seemed genuinely excited.

“It sounds like you’ve made up your mind already.” Tina noticed Dana’s mood change slightly. “Maybe not…” Tina put down her coffee and gave her friend her full attention. “What’s up Dane?”

“It’s been really great to spend most my time with Jackie. I like hanging out with him.”

“I know what you’re going through. I love spending time with my little guy, and Jack is still at that age where he loves hanging with his parents.”

Dana had the biggest smile. “It’s great isn’t it? How did you deal with going back to work?”

“After I had him I went on leave for a few months, but it was a big help that I could take him to the work daycare. It was hard when he started school, but I loved that the minute I picked him up he would fill me in on his day.”

“Jack’s going back to school in two months.”

“So maybe taking the job will fill up all that free time you’ll be having once Jack starts school. Will they let you start in two months?”

“They told me the position would be open to me when I was ready. One of the directors played in a lot of the tennis tournaments I did.”

“That’s good Dana. You should talk more about this with Alice.”

“I’ve told her a little about the offer, but I wasn’t sure about taking the job back then.”

    1. toribio, thanks for the nice, long post! A lot is happening, but the pace still seems good. I hope they really do talk before making love; they did the opposite previously, and that’s part of what put the distance between them in the first place! Let them truly do what they need to do to start again on solid ground! Sweet, sweet story once again!

    2. Toribio, I love your story. One of my favorite. I think that was one of the sweetest chapters! You can really feel the love and tenderness between those two. And Eli as their chaperon is just too cute! I don’t think they’re rushing at all. At this stage in their reconnection, I think it’s perfectly natural that they are all over each other, and I actually believe that you’re doing a great job in having them holding back that tiny necessary bit, until they feel it’s right to totally let go. But you’re very good at letting us know that we’re getting there! Thanks a lot.

    3. I love Eli. Tina and Bette and Eli. that has a nice ring to it. Thanks for the nice post. Everyone is so busy in in the real world that sometimes F/F has got to take a back seat, But I have back seat licenses so post real soon. thanks

    4. this is so good! the pace of the story is good for me, but the rithm that you want to put is ok i will continue reading, I think Elis is spending a lot of time with Alice!

    5. I never get tired of reading this story. Thanks for the update. The pace could be a bit faster, but I actually think things are moving along quite nicely. Eli is too funny “Get a Room”. Somehow I don’t think Bette being in the room next to Tina’s is going to last very long. Looking forward to your next update.

    6. I love this story and it does not matter if it a slow burn or a quick back together as long as they do get back together. I am glad that you have been able to post. Can’t wait to see what comes next.

    7. I realize that bette and Tina need to talk. Bette about why Tina never told her about Eli and now Tina knowing that Bette had no pictures of her, so I’m expecting the drama I hope it will be just enough to move them forward together. cause I’m afraid if this doesn’t work out, Eli will be crushed
