    The Tower Of Learning

You couldn’t get hold of the things you’d done and turn them right again. Such a power might be given to the gods, but it was not given to women and men, and that was probably a good thing. Had it been otherwise, people would probably die of old age still trying to rewrite their teens.

    Then they hung up.

    Bette: We going?

    Tina: Yup.

    Bette: Sweet.

Tina looked back at Bette and laughed.

Tina: Did you just say sweet?

    TBC…

    11:45a.m., May, 19th, 2010

Bette and Tina were driving to the beach letting everything
    sink in.

Tina: So, I noticed we’re driving a Saab.

Bette smirked and looked over at Tina.

Bette: I’m still Bette Porter, I refuse to drive anything
    other than a Saab.

    Tina laughed.

Tina: You are so laid back. How did you get like this hmm?

Bette: Through three years of intense therapy.

Tina: You have got to be kidding.

Bette: I kid you not. I have been going to therapy twice every week for the past three years. First thing I looked into when I got to New York.
Tina: That’s wonderful. Do you plan on keeping it up here?

Bette: Of course. I don’t know where I’d be without therapy. Do you know if Dan Foxworthy is still working.

Tina: Yeah, but he’s in private practice now.

    Bette: That’s fine.

Tina: His rates are very high B.

Bette: That’s fine. Money isn’t exactly lacking when it comes to my situation.

    Tina smirked.

    Tina: Oh really now.

Bette raised her eyebrows and smirked.

Bette: Why, yes really. Let me put it this way, my job and my boss treat me very well.

    Tina: Who is your boss?

    Bette: Peggy Peabody.

Tina’s jaw almost dropped down to the vehicle floor.

Tina: Holy shit, does Helena know that?

    Bette: Yup.

    Tina shook her head.

    Tina: She never told me.

Bette: I told her not to, we’ve been corresponding for a while. But now I’m slightly miffed that she didn’t tell me about the Sharon situation. But what’s done is done. Sharon got hers and I’m happy about that much.

Tina: How about this, no more talking about Sharon. It’s over and it’s done with. No more. That chapter of my life is finished.

    1. I think it is time for Tina ask for Bette to stay because I know Tina loves Bette and needs her. For sure, Bette feels the same way too! Please continue!

    2. Another great chapter as usual B. I like the way this story is going. However, not so sure Tina should jump into anything so soon after the mess that was her last relationship. Even if it is with Bette. Can’t wait for next chapter and ttyl.
