"Holy fuck, holy fuck , holy fuck! What am I going to say to her?"

Bette paced frantically across her living room, distraught over her damn stupid computer illiteracy. Her hands twisting as she tried to calm herself down.

"I’m not ready. I’m not ready for this talk! Dammit! Okay Bette, calm down. Think, THINK!"

A few blocks over, Tina sat motionless in the chair by the pool wondering how she was ever going to be able to show Bette how much she loved her, and how much she needed her. How was she ever going to make up for all the hurt she caused.

The baby monitor came to life with the sounds of Angelica quietly talking to herself in her special language. Tina strained to hear the quiet musing coming across the speaker of the receiver when she heard a very distinctive "Mama", then an amused giggle.

Tina smiled, she could hear in her daughters voice the love she had for her Mama, and it came as no surprise that her first very clear word was just that, Mama. Tina knew how impossible it was to not love Bette, so her daughters enthusiasm toward her was natural.. Her thoughts were interrupted by the doorbell.

Tina got up and went in to answer the door.

Bette stood awkwardly outside the home she had so recently sold and moved out of. She placed her hand on the door, swearing she could feel a pulse of life coming from it.

Or maybe its your heart slowly coming into your throat in fear she thought to herself.

"Okay Porter, get it together, you can do this." she mumbled to encourage herself to ring the doorbell.

She pressed the button and waited to be allowed into her home. "Correction, Tina’s home." she told herself.

A few seconds later the door opened to a wide eyed Tina.

    "Holy shit!"

"What? You knew I was coming over. I should just leave." She turned to go down the front steps.

"Bette wait, you will not believe this. Hang on one second okay, I have to go grab Angel. Come in, come in."

    1. Glad to see this post!!! I think it is time for Tina and Bette to REALLY TALK. Let it all hang out and put everything on the line for them and Angelica! PPS

    2. That wasn’t raw chicken Tina was cutting was it? (Yes, I’m a germophobic geek…) Really though, they’re going to have to start talking it out, all of it, and sooner rather than later. Hopefully Tina knows that there’s still hope there, and Bette lets herself open up. I’ve just caught up the last chapters, the story’s great cdn, and I’m looking forward to more of it. Thanks for the post.

    3. Happy to see this story back. YES, they need to talk and lay EVERYTHING out on the table. At this point, their lives and the happiness of themselves and their daughter is TOO important to hide their feelings. PPS :o)

    4. The walls of pain are slowly crumbling down. Now if only they can rebuild the walls of love. I am enjoying the direction that this story is taking.
