    CHAPTER THIRTY TWO: The Porters versus The Kennards

     

    Kennard Apartment. Monday morning.

     

    “Good morning baby!”

     

    “Good morning Por.. erm.. babe.”

     

    “What’s that?”

     

    “What’s what?”

     

    “That – thing – around your neck..”

     

    “Oh this? It’s a neck brace.”

     

    “A neck brace?”

     

    “Yeah. I borrowed it from Jenny yesterday.”

     

    “Did you fall on the stairs again and hurt yourself?”

     

    “Nope.”

     

    “Why are you wearing it then?”

     

    “Because of you.”

     

    “Me? What did I do?”

     

    “This..”

     

    Removes neck brace.

     

    “Oh.”

     

    “I look like a Dalmatian.”

     

    “Umm.. no.. no you don’t..”

     

    “…”

     

    “Uh.. maybe a little bit?”

     

    “…”

     

    “Oh shit.. did your dad notice?”

     

    “No. I wore a sweat shirt the entire time he was at home. The AC wasn’t working so I was sweating like a pig all night.”

     

    “Really? My poor baby. I’m so sorry..”

     

    “I bet you are.”

     

    “But why the neck brace? Why not wear a turtleneck to school today?”

     

    “Well, unlike you, some of us have to attend class wearing a uniform.”

     

    “You don’t have to. You won’t get in trouble, everyone knows that you’re under my protection.”

     

    “No thanks, I really don’t want to bend the rules.”

     

    “Are you sure?”

     

    “Yep. I know I can get away with it, but I really don’t want to.”

     

    “Aww.. my baby.. -kiss-.. so principled and full of conviction. Here, wear this scarf around your neck instead of that tacky brace..”

     

    “Thanks babe. I don’t mean to be so uptight, I just think that at least one of us should have the sense to behave properly.”

     

    “And I’m glad it’s you. I love being bad and breaking the rules..”

     

    “I’m sure you do.”

     

    “Speaking of rule breaking, what do you say we cut a class later and look for a deserted room for a little play time?”

     

    “No way you horn dog! We have an important math quiz today.”

     

    “So? Math class is right before lunch, correct?”

     

    “Yeah..”

     

    “We could ditch the last two subjects for the day.”

     

    “I don’t want to..”

    3. Big jerk does not even begin to describe Porter Sr. bet he’s gonna try and get Tina expelled from school or Bette moved out of her class again…Hope Bette takes a major stand! PPS:)

    5. Loved what Bette did to get Alice & Shane back for spying.. Man, Bette’s dad is gonna make their lives hell-Probably get Tina kicked out of school & her dad loose his jobs!!!

    6. Melvin is about as classless as they come; he proves money can’t buy you just anything in the long run. I have a bad feeling that Bette’s little have Tina fail a test ploy is going to bite Tina by giving the headmistress a reason to expel her when it is demanded by Melvin. I hope F4 crew has a good plan!

    8. I haven’t been able to comment as much, so I just wanted to say that I’ve loved your past few posts–they were so sweet and funny! So, I hate Bette’s dad, love Tina’s dad and love what Mr. Kennard did to Mr. Porter. I fear what Melvin’s wrath could do to Tina and her dad, but I have faith in Bette and F4 and ASS (haha) to keep them safe. Oh, and I think you should set up some type of timer thing so that a story is posted every two hours or so–that’d be great so if you could start working on that I’d appreciate it! :)

    10. I’m surprised Ken didn’t deck Melvin instead of just pouring coffee over him. Thank goodness Bette’s friends are looking out for her and Tina, cos this could get nasty… thanks for the chapter!
