    CHAPTER THIRTY THREE: Who’s Your Daddy?

    Should I? Tina Kennard asked herself for the fifth time as her thumb lingered over the reply button on her golden cell phone. Maybe I should just wait until she comes over before I tell her, she sighed as pressed the exit button and stared at the smiling picture of her girlfriend displayed on the small screen. But she might get mad because she told me to call her as soon as anything comes up, she ran a frustrated hand through her hair and rolled on her back on the bed. Still, I don’t want to make her worry and ditch the fund raising event, she groaned as she closed her eyes and clutched the cell phone tightly against her chest. God, she exhaled loudly, what should I do?

    For the past few minutes, Tina had been debating to herself on whether it was a good idea to text or call her girlfriend and tell her that her asshole of a father paid them a visit this afternoon. Sure, she was determined to rag about Melvin as soon he left their apartment.. but a thought came up inside her head and stopped her just in time before she pressed the green call button to talk to Bette. It dawned on her how impulsive and irrational the hotheaded brunette could be when angry. And she was afraid that Bette would do something that would further compromise the already shaky relationship she had with her father and further push the prick to lash out against them even more.

     

    “No.” Tina said determinedly as she made a decision. She would tell Bette about it personally, that way, she would be able to calm the brunette down when the inevitable Porter temper flares out. She would soothe, reassure and play the part of the calm and collected girlfriend. But until then.. she would have to do something first. She flipped open the phone and started typing..
