Tina looked at the alarm clock and rolled out of bed. She showered and dressed ,and did something she had never done before. She got in her car and drove to the planet for breakfast. When she entered the place it was almost empty, but the few customers that were there started to eye her as if she was fresh meat. She took a seat at one of the tables in the far corner and a lady she recognized as Bette’s sister approached her.
“Hi” Kit said, “coffee?”
Tina wasn’t in the mood to socialize with anyone right now, except of course a certain brunette who was not even here. “yes, please”. She narrowed her gaze and looked towards the entrance.
Kit caught the look and smiled. “Is my sister joining you?”
Tina lowered her eyes and answered. “no”, she said, “why do you ask?”
Kit holds up her hands defensively. “Nothing…, not a thing”, she says and retreats to the counter with a broad smile on her face. .. You owe me big time for what i’m about to do for you sis, she mumbles as she walks away.
Bette woke with a start. The phone was ringing consistently. Whoever was on the other end had no intention of giving up. She rolled over and looked at the clock on her bedside table. Whoever it is had better have a very good excuse for waking me this early on a Sunday morning. “Hello” Bette almost disconnected the phone in anger. “Calm down Kit…why are you shouting…? why didn’t you call Angus…? okay I’m on my way…you owe me big time for this one. Bette dragged herself out of bed and showered. She grabbed her keys and headed for her car , wondering if she would ever force her eyes open enough to make it to the planet.
Bette loved her sister very much , but at times she could be downright annoying. As she pulled into the planets parking lot she breathed a heavy sigh. I so wish my sister had called her no- good boyfriend instead of me…and what’s with the emergency anyway. As she entered the planet her sister met her at the counter. The place was almost packed.
“you know it should be illegal to get up this early?” Bette addressed her sister.
