Superhero and some super senses (Valentine’s Day Special)

February is always a magical time. There is still this lingering buzzing air of expectancy and joy after turning the page of a new year, and the wind is becoming mild with every passing day, carrying the liveliness and hope to the city of angels, but more importantly, there is this significant day for lovers. The anticipation for a little romance, the lighthearted chippers, the flamboyant frame of mind are all tangible in the atmosphere.
There was no exception for this year. All the boulevards, streets, corners of the city were ornamented with bubbly signs for Valentine’s Day sales and love songs. Everyone seemed to be floating in the pinkish glory…almost everyone.
In the Porter-Kennard household, someone was left moping around at this special time of year. The only man of the family, 16-year-old Michelangelo, was out on a date with his long-term girlfriend Jillian. He was allowed to stay over at her house for the night since they had been dating for ages and Jillian’s parents genuinely loved him. While the little girl, Angelica was yet to be romantically involved with anybody, she was “kidnapped” by her auntie Kit to go on a road trip up for the weekend and wouldn’t be back till Sunday.
Tina went home alone, parked her car into the garage and stepped inside of her luxuriously spacious house. It was just a silent place without the people she loved. Hanging her professional bags on the hook and tossing her keys into the bowl, she noticed something different. Maybe the arrangement of shoes on the shoe rack, maybe just her imagination, she couldn’t put her finger on it.
With just a tint of curiosity, she peeped into the kitchen and chuckled to herself seeing a box, wrapped neatly in present paper and a red bow tied on top of it, resting beside the stove. Ahh, Bette, her silly, lovely, and incredibly childish wife, her silly wife who was seventy thousand miles away from home. Then she sighed.
She pulled the rubber band off from her pony tail and ran a hand through the golden stands, lingered a little bit at the entrance before going to the gift, all the while grinning at their conversation last night.
