    “Start talking or I’ll cut them off…. I’ll do it and I’ll enjoy it.”

    “Bought it? Bought it? From where? From whom?” I snarled

    “I-I bou-bought it from a man for 50,000 dollars.”

    This is going too slow so I decide to change tactics. I take a deep breath and say calmly and soothingly, “I’m sorry about earlier. We won’t hurt you unless you lie to us. So please just tell us your story from beginning to end.”

    That seemed to do the trick because he relaxed and started, “My name is David Kim and I own a jewelry store in Downtown L.A. I buy and sell jewelry. Two days ago a young man came in with this ring looking to sell it. He’s blond, blue eyed, 5’10, about 175 lbs. He said his name was Andrew Richards. He showed me a picture ID that I have a copy of and I also have him on my security tape. I asked him where he got it from and he said it have been in his family for years. After I examined the ring I quoted him a price of $40,000 but he said no. So after some negotiation we agreed on $50,000. I knew the ring is worth at least 4 times that. I mean look at it, it’s gorgeous, flawless and extremely rare. He insisted on cash and I agreed. I told him that he would have to come back for it the next day and he did. So that’s when I got it. Now, I didn’t find out that the ring belonged to anybody else until I saw the news that night. You see I rarely watch TV but that night I did. But anyways, I saw the story on the disappearance of Spencer Carlin. When they showed the picture of the ring I immediately recognized it as being the one I just bought. I was very surprised to say the least. They said she was Ashley Davies’s fiancée and that if I had any information to contact the number on the screen. I didn’t think anybody on that hotline would believe me right off so I decided to come to Miss Davies directly knowing that time was of the essence and here I am.”

    Greg and I were speechless. That ring is going to be what brings Miss Spencer back. Finally we get a real great lead. I snap out of my thoughts and ask, “Is that everything? You didn’t forget anything?”
