Ch.4

                I didn’t want to even go to school the next day.  I was too worn out by my run-ins with Ashley and I certainly wasn’t looking forward to  seeing Ashley or Aiden again. I rolled out of bed, and started to change. Wow. I looked like a zombie. I obviously didn’t get too much sleep since whenever I started drifting off.. I’d see Ashley and Aiden together. Ugh. I threw on jeans, socks and a clean shirt. I ran downstairs, grabbed breakfast off the table and ran out the door, stopping briefly to say hi and bye to my mom. She was, of course, glad that I’d gotten a new girlfriend. She always thought Ashley was a ‘bad influence.’  She still didn’t approve of me being gay, of course. But she did approve of Carmen a lot more. She was actually nice towards her, too. I know. Un- fucking believable. Maybe it was because Carmen didn’t have that bad girl image that Ashley did. But then again, wasn’t that what made Ashley so… hot?

When I got to school, Carmen was already there at my locker. “Hey Spence.” She said, smiling sweetly. “I got us coffee on the way here.” “Thanks Carmen.” I sipped it gratefully as she handed to me and then  kissed her on the top of her head.  I opened up my locker and dumped in the crap that I didn’t need and retrieved the books I needed for my 1^st period English class. Carmen rested her head on my shoulder and held my hand, lacing our fingers together. I sighed contentedly, grateful that I had such an angel by my side. “You alright after all the Ashley drama from yesterday?” she asked. “Kinda.” I said with a frown. She was walking me to my English class when we saw.. Ashley at her locker and Aiden sticking his face in  front of her over her shoulder and then promptly shoving his tongue down her throat. My stomach knotted instantly. “Make that not really at all.” I said, walking faster to get past them. I felt bad that I had these feelings of.. jealousy whenever I saw Aiden and Ashley together, when I had a girlfriend. I couldn’t begin to imagine how all this madness involving Ashley was affecting her. I wanted to make it up to her somehow.
