    What should every 18 year old do for their birthday? Why go to a strip club of course!

    “Um I was going to wait til after school but I know you have cheerleading and I didn’t want to embarrass you so, I wanna give you your present now” she looked sheepishly at the ground and began rifling through her purse.

    “Oh Ash you didn’t have to, I mean not right now, we’ll see each other tom..”

    She interrupts me by pulling out a small black box “It’s ok Spence I had it with me so you know, no big deal. But um, can you not open it right now? You know how I am about gifts.”

    I laugh at her pained expression, “sure Ash I’ll open it next period, Mr. Crocker doesn’t give a shit what we do in that class, or if we’re late… oh shit Ashley it’s 11 minutes after! You’re going to be so late to Lit and you already have 3 tardies in that class!”

    She gives me her best ‘so what’ face so I playfully push her towards her English class “go missy go, I don’t want to be the reason you get detention on my birthday!”

    I dip quietly into my social studies class and study the tiny box she gave me. It’s too small to be a charm bracelet. I pull off the neat ribbon and pull the top off, all I see is white paper. I set the note aside and lift the cotton off. Underneath is a small silver heart on a delicate chain. It’s the most beautiful necklace I’ve ever seen. It looks a little like the necklace I saw Ashley wear to her dad’s funeral last year. I grab the note and open it. Scrawled in Ashley’s messy handwriting in simple black pen it reads: Here is my heart, it belongs to you now. Happy birthday Spence, Love Ash.

    Wait a second. I turn the necklace over and very small on the back it’s marked with an engraving AMD. Ashley Marie Davies… Oh no. Underneath that is a fresher, newer engraving of SEC. Spencer Elizabeth Carlin. This can’t be. I stick my thumb nails between the edges and sure enough it pops open. On the left side is an old tiny photo of a young Raife Davies and a baby that I assume is Ashley and on the right side is a picture of me and her at the beach last summer. Every time I’ve seen that picture I told her it was my favorite picture of us. A tear trickles silently down my face landing on the note.  Her dad gave her this locket on her 5th birthday and it’s the most important thing she has along with his guitar; that’s all she ever told me about it. She was so sad on that day when I asked her about it that I had totally forgotten. I couldn’t accept this gift, no wonder she made me open it when she wasn’t around, she knew I’d want to give it back!

    1. it was kinda weird cuz today this girl i know turned 18, but she’s only buying a lotto ticket. maybe. but, oh wow that was good. i can’t wait for pt. 2 to see what spencer does. oh, and btw, dont be absurd! this was really good, of course we wanna see a part 2! haha.

    14. excuse me while i pick my jaw up off the floor..you know how you watch movies and you yell at the people on screen cause they’re oblivious to whats going on??..throughout the whole strip club scene i’m reading and shouting (in my head) the whole time “ASHLEY IS A STRIPPER! OMG ASHLEY IS THERE! SPENCER IT’S ASHLEY!”..hahahaha..and i just about flipped at the ending and then remembered it’s only part 1…sooo with that said..the 2nd part needs to go up now..that was totally hot..LOVE it..
