‘Addison. She’s always all over Spencer, you’d think they were dating she’s so fucking possessive.’
 
‘So they’re not? Dating I mean?’ What was going on her?. Bloody lesbians and their fucking drama.
 
‘No,’ Amy growled. ‘Addison’s got a girlfriend.’ Oh.OH!
 
‘I was sure they were together,’ Amy nodded before explaining the situation.
 
 ’Yeah, you would. Ever since Spencer transferred Addison’s been obsessed. Can’t keep her hands to herself.’ She was scowling now. Something was up here.

‘Well. Um, Spencer doesn’t seem to mind?’ She’d seemed more than happy with the hands on her, I hadn’t missed the way she’d shifted her legs apart so Addison could slip her hand under her skirt. Actually it had got me pretty wet.
 
‘Yeah, that’s part of the problem,’ Amy grumbled. ‘They’re as bad as each other. They’re like, really close friends too but there’s always been something else between them. Addy has this weird control over Spencer,’ she finished with a sigh. I didn’t know about control, it had seemed pretty mutual to me.
 
‘But, Spencer got Addison to back down.’ Amy too I suddenly realised. ‘You like her. Spencer.’ I stated, oh god this was getting complicated.
 
Amy stopped walking and turned to face me, she looked upset.
 
‘Yeah, Ashley I really like her,’ she finished quietly before walking on to class. I paused a moment longer before following. If I’d have been more confident I’d have pushed it but we walked the rest of the way in silence.
 
So, Spencer was single. I was actually amazed, surely such a hot, sexy, friendly girl would have been snapped up. I had a feeling there was something I wasn’t getting. Oh, I wouldn’t like to be Addison’s girlfriend either, I wonder how she’d react if she saw how intimate the two girls were? I mean they had kissed, had it gone further? It looked like they were very comfortable with the intimacy. Hum, that would partially explain Amy’s dislike for Addison. Nobody likes a cheater. If that was the case it would somewhat lower my opinion of Spencer too. Although, she didn’t seem the type to be a home wrecker. Yes, something was missing. If I was really curious I could ask Austin. As Spencer’s best friend she would know. But that would involve admitting that I cared, and probably expose my interest in the blonde.
 
I left it there and pushed myself for the last mile. Not bad, I felt good as I slowed to a gentle jog and then a walk for the last quarter mile to warm down. I’d decided to spend the rest of the day by the pool, working on some music . It was a good way to spend my time, I wasn’t ready to leave the house yet, it was safe ground. Maybe next weekend I’d see if Amy wanted to go see a movie or hang out with me. I was becoming more comfortable in my friendship with the pretty little blonde. She was very sweet and never pushed me to talk. She’d already adapted to my moods and knew when to talk over my silence and when to join me. I liked her, a lot. I wonder what Addison’s problem with her was? Jealousy probably, even though they weren’t dating she’d reacted badly to our presence yesterday. Mine I understood but Amy? Although, Spencer had been pleased to see her and the girls had shared a hug before we left. Ugh! Trust me to get mixed up in a group like this! But, on the plus side they were nice girls, didn’t do drugs that I knew of and were all as hot as hell! 
 
‘Hi,’ My head snapped round and I came face to face with the enigmatic blonde I had been obsessing over.
 
‘Uh, hey,’ my brain did that thing where it melted as I gave her the quick once over. She was dressed similarly to me, running shorts and a sports vest. Her skin was pink and held a light sheen of sweat from exertion.

I’d seen Ashley walking towards the house and had stopped to wait for her. She was in her own world and didn’t notice me until I spoke. Then I’d startled her and she seemed at a loss for words.
 
‘Been running?’ I asked jokingly and she managed to pull it together enough to give me a small smile.
 
‘Isn’t it obvious?’ she waved a hand across her body and I made a show of giving her the once over. 
 
I’d noticed her checking me out so I thought I’d return the favour. She had tight black running shorts on and a white cut off vest which exposed those amazing abs. I let my eyes linger then raised my gaze to her eyes. She was staring right back at me and her eyes were nearly black. A second later she looked away. Shit Spence, go easy. It was obvious from our brief encounters that this was not the girl who had propositioned me at the party. She was damaged and I would need a delicate touch if I was to ease through those walls and win her trust.
 
‘Sorry,’ I spoke quietly, ‘you have an amazing figure.’ I’d stick to the truth and hope she wouldn’t bolt.
 
‘Uh, thanks. I guess?’ She seemed pleased by the compliment but scratched the back of her head and wouldn’t meet my eyes, it was adorable.
 
‘Have you come to see Austin?’ I balked slightly at the question because I’d actually come to see Maggie, I’d intended on hanging with Austin later.
 
‘Uh, yeah,’ it wasn’t a lie I supposed.
 
‘Well, come in but Annie stayed over and I don’t know if they’re up yet,’ I raised my eyebrows and she giggled. So cute!

Oh god! Did I just giggle? What was happening to me? This girl made me feel like a kid with a crush. She was watching me with a small smile on her face.
 
‘Yeah, I think they did the deed last night,’ I nodded knowingly.
 
‘Oh yeah?’ She smirked back at me. ‘You mean they got down and dirty?’ Spencer replied with a lewd look.
 
‘Yeah!’ We both giggled this time and were still chuckling as we walked into the kitchen.
 
‘Hi guys!’ Maggie was sitting at the counter reading a magazine and Maggie’s mom, Caroline, was pottering about. 
 
‘Hello, Ashley, Spencer,’ the gorgeous woman that was the mother of my friends greeted us both. ‘How’s school been Ash?’ she asked warmly.
 
‘Uh, OK actually. Um, thanks.’ I gave gave her a weak smile and she just nodded. ‘Need anything?’ 
 
As part of the agreement I was only given a very small cash allowance. I hadn’t spent last weeks yet. I had credits put on itunes and general stuff added to the grocery list. We took lunch every day so apart from soda’s and snacks I hadn’t touched it. 
 
‘Actually, I’m good. I, uh, have most of last weeks left.’ Caroline gave me a soft smile for my honesty. 
 
‘OK, Ash honey. Just let me or the girls know if I’m not around OK?’ I nodded, slightly embarrassed that Spencer had seen me being treated like a child. When I glanced at her she just gave the tiniest shake of her head as if to say ‘don’t worry about it’. I nodded an acknowledgement and took a seat opposite Maggie.
 
Caroline went to the fridge and then handed Spencer and I a bottle of water. 
 
‘It’s very hot today girls, make sure you don’t dehydrate.’ We both nodded, captivated by the gorgeous woman. It was pathetic really but honestly she was a total MILF, except she was like a mom to me, so I wouldn’t want to you know? But it didn’t stop my hormones kicking in. Shut up Ash!
 
‘Mom, they’re not kids,’ Maggie moaned at her mother who turned and frowned at her daughter.
 
‘Well, it’s my house so I can do what I want! she smugly informed her eldest child who just shook her head in disgust before going back to her magazine.

I was actually enjoying being mothered, it wasn’t something I was used to. It was nice to have someone take an interest in my wellbeing.
 
‘Spencer, have you talked to your parents yet.’ Spencer was lounging against the doorway but jumped to attention when she was addressed directly. I watched her face drop and she started peeling the label off her bottle of water.
 
‘No,’ she muttered without meeting the older woman’s eyes. What was all this about?
 
‘Spencer Marie Carlin!’ I almost laughed out loud as Spencer jumped to attention.
 
‘Marie, you’re middle name’s Marie?’ Maggie asked in surprise then chuckled, shaking her head. Spencer just rolled her eyes and scowled at her before turning her attention back to her friend’s mother.
 
‘Spencer, your court date will be coming up very soon. There’s a good chance you won’t have to testify but I still need your parents to sign the papers.’ Caroline sighed and went over to the blonde who wouldn’t meet her eye.
 
Court date, testify, papers? What had I walked in on?
 
‘I was going to tell them over the summer but I was in Ohio. I figured if it didn’t go well or they told my grandparents it wouldn’t be a good idea. It’s a small town ya know,’ she looked up at the taller woman as she replied.
 
Spencer sounded upset and I wanted nothing more to go over and give her a hug. She looked small and lost.
 
‘Mom! Leave her alone,’ Maggie looked upset too and I saw Spencer give her a pleading look. ‘She’s not ready, OK?’
 
‘Margaret!’ Maggie balked and even looked a little scared at the use of her full name. ‘Spencer needs to tell her parents and sooner rather than later. I don’t want them to find out like I did,’ her beautiful eyes turned to glare at Maggie then turned their angry stare on me. ‘I would have preferred a civil conversation rather than discovering my daughter and her best friend naked, having sex on the tennis court.’ Ooops, I hung my head in utter embarrassment.
 
I looked first at Maggie then Spencer. Maggie looked mortified and was studiously studying the counter top. Spencer was laughing silently until the parent’s attention was focused back on her.
 
‘At least with Austin I had some warning, she used to follow you around like a puppy!’ An irate finger was wagged in my direction and I followed Maggie’s example, the surface in front of me suddenly became very interesting. Spencer was silently pissing herself, I was liking her a little less right now!
 
‘I’m free on Wednesday next week. I’ll call your parents and invite them over for drinks, you can tell them then. At least you’ll be on neutral ground.’ The redhead nodded and Spencer just stood there is shock. The woman was a force to be reckoned with. ‘Right, I’ll be back this afternoon. Will you be in this evening? I’ll get you pizza in.’ she offered, looking round the room.
 
‘I’m going out with Bella tonight,’ Maggie informed her mother and shot Spencer a quick glance.
 
‘I think I’ll be here with Austin, we’ve no plans,’ Spencer shrugged and shot a look over to Maggie.
 
‘Right, put it on the account. OK girls?’ Maggie nodded ungraciously.
 
‘Yes Mom,’ she groaned.
 
‘I’ll be here too,’ I volunteered quietly and earned a warm smile.
 
‘OK. Ash sweetie, just for the record, it’s lovely having you here,’ I was surprised to be wrapped up in a warm hug. 
 
God she smelt good. I’d always had a small crush on my friend’s mother so being this up close and personal was a bit overwhelming. Plus my aversion to physical contact made me automatically stiffen. It was strange to feel wanted by an adult. Well, since my Dad died anyway. She pulled away as she felt my body go rigid.
 
‘Sorry,’ a kiss on my forehead finished the job. ‘Behave!’ I caught Spencer and Maggie smirking at my slightly stunned state as she left the room.

‘Say hi to Bella for me?’ Spencer asked with a cheeky smile.
 
I looked over at her and smiled. Thinking about her wearing that collar had me squirming with desire. She was keeping her distance and I knew why, if she came any closer dressed like that I wouldn’t be able to resist. That would take a lot of explaining to Ashley! Although, Ashley’s outfit left little to the imagination. Her body had never looked so good, I noticed Spencer checking her out when she thought no-one was looking.
 
‘Will do. We’re just hanging out, having a few drinks’ I explained as I fiddled with my hair, nervous habit I guess.
 
I wasn’t obliged to tell her what I was doing. I did still hook up every now and again and had seen a lot of Caitlin over the summer. It wasn’t the same as my Spencer fix though. Caitlin was my total bitch, my total dirty little bitch.
 
‘Yeah, I’ll tell her that the great Spencer Carlin sends her regards!’ I smirked as I thought of the teasing I could give my friend. ‘What was it Spence? ‘Beg to be my bitch?’ Spencer nodded and laughed.
 
‘Something like that, if you see any of the others say hi too,’ she added.
