“Just stay here. I’ll be right back.” I nervously commanded. Looking over my shoulder, I made sure that Ashley sat back down. I made my way up to the quickly growing figures. The walk seemed like an eternity, but we finally met for our showdown halfway between the cafeteria and the parking lot. I took a deep breathe and embraced myself. This was it. It was now or never.

“Hey Spency what’s up,” asked Alyssa with a smirk on her face. She has something up her sleeve. And thanks to her, now so do I.

“Not much, um why are you guys here?” I interrogated them. The jock behind Alyssa decided to speak up.

“We wanted to see what you’re up to, and of course party!” exclaimed Skyler. They were never going to grow up. I used to hang out with him all the time, but he took a change for the worse. We all did.

“I told you guys I don’t do that anymore,” I stated. They were hiding something. They were sneaky with there methods, but there intentions were so predictable.

“Spencer, dude, get over it,” said Kristi, Alyssa’s right hand girl. The thought alone made me want to punch her in the face, but I resisted. I’d been in enough fights recently.

“Seriously we’ve had this conversation before. I know you did not come down here to have it again. What do you really want?” I demanded. This was making me uncomfortable. I felt like I was back in Ohio again, helpless and alone.

“We wanted to hang out with you. We haven’t seen you in a while,” Alyssa said. It was a lie. They came up here for a good time and to harass me. Jeremy, the guy in the very back finally spoke up.

“Hang out with us tonight. Show us around. It’ll be fun, for old time’s sake,” Jeremy insisted. I never liked Jeremy. We never hung out with him until this all started. He always gave me that cold feeling when I talked to him.

“Come on Mandy just one night,” Alyssa begged putting on her puppy dog face. She knew I was helpless after it. I always was.

“We haven’t hung out forever, and we’ve missed you,” Skyler reasoned with me. He’d gotten better at lying since I left. I knew there was some sort of catch to the whole arrangement, but I couldn’t find an excuse. I had to face them sooner or later.
