Circles and Circles 2 (Part one of… some) – (Chapter: Never gonna let you go (Part two of… some))

    “You’ll see”

“No I won’t, I think that’s the point of a blindfold” Spencer frowned obstinately

“Well, you will in a few minutes” she looked pitiful with pleading. “Cmon Spence, please. Pretty please, with cherries on top… PLLEEEEAAAASE”

Spencer gave in. She didn’t think she had much choice and anyway she found it impossible to deny anything that Ashley really wanted. The girl never asked for that much anyway. Blindfolded, she felt the car shift as they drove up to the house. The rain had stopped, for which Ashley was very, very grateful, but the wind still blew and the air still held the fragrance of the storm in its embrace.

Spencer felt Ashley open her door from the gust of wind that blew in, and trustingly took her hand. She was carefully led up the stairs of the house, and through the front door. Listening intently for clues, she realized she was being stupid, and smiled waiting to see what would come. Ashley’s hand was warm on hers as she led her very carefully up the stairs, making sure she didn’t trip.

Spencer felt herself gently propelled by the elbow down the corridor, and thanks to her lousy sense of direction, couldn’t even tell which part of the house she was in. When they eventually came to a stand still, she waited. Ashley’s warm body moved next to hers, and she felt the caress of her lovers breath on her ear.

“I love you” she heard the delicate whisper, and felt the blindfold slip away.

They were standing upstairs, in one of the rooms Spencer had never seen before. Two giant French doors were open to a balcony, the ocean wild and untamed in the distance. The storm had given the horizon a bruised colour, and the whole scene was unbelievable. Just inside the doors, buffered from the wind, a table for two had been placed, perfectly set with exquisite dinnerwere. Candles flickered in the breeze as it whipped outside, and two long stemmed roses whispered petals against each other.

Spencer turned to look at Ashley, her eyes wide and throat choked with emotion.

    “You set this up?”

“With help” Ashley smiled softly, “I wanted this to be special” she was engulfed in a hug by Spencer that required her to take a step back to steady herself.

“You’re so beautiful” tears were gathering in the corners of crystal blue eyes and Ashley thought she might join in. Swallowing her throbbing emotions, she took Spencer by the hand. Now, not later. Now.

Drawing her girlfriend out on to the balcony, she jerked her head slightly, and Spencer watched a tuxedoed waiter she hadn’t even seen leave the room, closing the door behind him. Spencer regarded Ashley quizzically. Ashley turned, her chest painful with nerves and took a deep breath. Taking her girlfriends hands, she gazed deeply into the eyes of the woman she loved.

    “Spence, I love you”

“I lov…” she was cut off by a finger on her lips.

“I lost you once, and it took me eight years to get you back. I don’t think I could do that again.” She kept her finger on Spencer’s lips, silencing her from response. Taking another deep breath, she slipped removed her finger from the blonde’s lips and slid them in her pocket and drew out  a delicate jewelry box. Opening it to reveal a gorgeous diamond ring, she looked Spencer in the eyes, “Spencer Carlin will you marry me?”

    3. Oh my how sweet. Awwwwwwwww. You should continue this story. Even after part 3. I want to see how they are doing after they get married. If they have children. And where life takes them. This is a great story and needs to be shared with all of us on here.

    5. ::sniff!:: Love it! Love the fluff! ::sings:: We love the fluff! Gotta have that fluff!! AWWWWW…:: Sorry. I’m a little out of it. I’m really freaking hungover and I feel like my eardrums have been filled with hot lead. And despite that horrible burning pain, I still loved the fic! Speaking of which, Jesus rode by to say hey. He was happily going to ring his little bell, but due to my current state, I told him that if he even DARED dinging one tiny little ding that I would shove his bell in a very inappropriate location. So he left. In a huff, I might add. I think he went surfing in Kaui…

    7. Oh and on a side note (now that I’m thinking clearly and no longer in horrible pain): You can never be guilty of overposting (and that goes for you, too, bannerman!). You both are simply causing my morning productivity at work to diminish by a startling degree. Luckily, I have a bevy of med students who are completely under my control so I can set them out on a variety of tasks while I bask in the glory of your ficdom. And then feel horribly guilty. :( Actually, no. I’m not that bad. And work’s been really slow, so I’ve enjoyed the distraction. :)
