Crazy Thing Called Love – (Chapter: Chapter Nine)

“How is it exactly the same, Ashley?” Spencer challenged.

“Well let me think it’s because it seems like we both are hurting ourselves since we’re with the other,” responded Ashley simply.

    “Oh,” Spencer said/

“Is that all you have to say to me?” sighed Ashley.

“What do you want me to say, Ashley?” Spencer asked with an exasperated sigh.

“Just forget I said anything,” answered Ashley.

“No, since you brought it up, Davies just spill,” Spencer said.

“I need you, Spencer and I hoped I was the one you needed, too,” replied Ashley. I guess I’m wrong. It feels like we’re not getting anywhere. We can’t even move on, we’re still stuck in the same place and it sucks.

“I need you, too Ash,” Spencer stated. I just need time.

“How much time exactly?” asked a concerned Ashley.

“Until I learn to trust you again,” Spencer answered.

“You can count on me now,” responded Ashley. I promise.

“How could I be so sure?” Spencer asked.

“I love you, Spencer, but I’m tired of trying to prove to you that I can be a trustworthy girlfriend,” admitted Ashley on the verge of tears. No matter what I say, you’re still going to believe what you want to believe. Tears were forming in Ashley’s eyes.

    “Ash, I’m sorry,” Spencer sighed.

“Just go,” said Ashley in a choked up voice. I can’t deal with this conversation anymore.

“Very well,” Spencer replied. Spencer kissed Ashley on her cheek and left Ashley’s bedroom.

“You like me?” questioned Spencer in disbelief.

“Yeah, I really do,” Ashley responded in tears. I can’t fight these feelings I have for you anymore.

“Ash, I’m with Jack,” began Spencer. We’re happy together and I really like him. Maybe if things were different like if I were single or liked girls, we could be together. You understand, right? Ashley nodded sadly and got up from Spencer’s bed. She was about to leave Spencer’s room, but Spencer stopped her.

“Let me go home,” sighed Ashley.

“I hope we can still be friends,” Spencer stated. I’d be nothing if I didn’t have you in my life, Ash.

“I’d be nothing without you either,” said Ashley sadly. Alright, we could try being friends, Spence but I’m not going to make you any promises.
