    “No that’s okay, I’m good,” Spencer said shaking her head. “Your toast was beautiful.”

               

     

     

     

     

    “Come on, let’s drink to us!” Ashley said raising her glass.

               

     

     

     

    “No really, I’m good,” Spencer said a little more irritated.

               

     

     

     

     

     

     

    “Why not? You’re getting really good at rejecting my ideas these days,” Ashley said petulantly. Spencer rose from the table and didn’t say a word to Ashley. Aiden looked on after the blonde who was streaking from the room. Snapping his fingers at Ashley he pointed for her to go after Spencer.

               

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    “Why? She started-” Aiden snapped again this time looking at her until she became unsettled. “Ugh fine!”

               

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Ashley pushed her chair out from the table and went in the direction that she’d seen Spencer go. As she turned the corner she heard her girlfriend on the phone.

               

     

     

     

     

     

    “It’s just so hard, I can’t do this! No I can’t,” She was near tears, there was heavy emotion in her voice. “I didn’t know who to call, so I called you, I know  I know. Thank you. You don’t know how much it means that I can lean on-” She stopped when she realized that Ashley was standing in front of her with her arms crossed and tears threatening to fall over her cheeks. Spencer flipped the phone shut and reached for Ashley.

               

     

     

     

     

     

    “Don’t FUCKING touch me, what in the hell is going on Spencer?! Who the fuck was that you were talking to and do not weasel out of telling me this time! God, I can’t deal with this anymore! If you can’t be honest with me then we’re done!” Tears were running down her cheeks now and Spencer’s bottom lip started to shake.

               

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    “Ashley, whatever you’re thinking it isn’t, I just,” Spencer started her voice trembling.

               

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    “What Spencer?! WHAT IS IT?! Are you seeing someone else? JUST TELL ME!!!!” Ashley yelled. She knew that the entire restaurant could probably hear them now but she couldn’t control herself.

               

     

     

     

     

     

     

    “I’m not seeing anyone else, you’re the only one for me,” Spencer said quietly. Ashley rolled her eyes and lifted Spencer’s chin up so they could look each other in the eye.

               

     

     

     

     

     

     

    “Then who was on the phone? Who do you feel like you can turn to that isn’t me?” Ashley asked brushing the tears off of her cheeks angrily. Spencer swallowed the huge lump in her throat and took a deep breath.

               

     

     

     

     

     

     

    “My sponsor.”

               

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    “Your what?”

               

     

     

     

     

     

    “My sponsor, Ashley, I should have told you but I didn’t know how. I’m an alcoholic.”

    11. Wow. did not really see that coming. But, when she kept rejecting the drinks I thought it was either that or she was pregnant.Um…I really like this plot decision. Could very easily have happened while Ash was in a coma. Spence dealt with it by drinking and it got beyond out of control.Hmmm…I seriously dig what you’re doing here…for many personal reasons and I like that I haven’t read any fics where this was an issue with Spencer.I am now very much one of your fans :)
