Ashley got up and released her lover’s hand. She wrapped her arms around herself and stared down at Spencer. “It’s weird standing in this beautiful room with you Spencer. It’s so warm even though the world around us is freezing cold.” She thought of Paula. “You’re mother is amazing, this house is amazing, you’re amazing- I don’t feel right here.” She let her arms fall. “I don’t think I deserve to be here with you.”
Spencer stared intently into brown eyes, trying to figure out what was running through the rock star’s mind. She sat further back into the daybed and fought hard to keep her composure. It wasn’t easy. Her heart was racing as Ashley’s words continued to sink in, she wanted to leave. “What makes you say that Ashley?” She asked calmly as her eyes bore into her lover’s.
Ashley smirked bitterly. “I’m a fucking drug addict Spencer. For the last two years I’ve been snorting cocaine and having sex with random women. You think your mother would want me here if she knew that?” She shook her head. “I think I should just leave before she figures me out.”
Spencer stood up. “And where do you plan on going Ashley? Back to L.A.?” The rock star hesitated before nodding. “And what would you do there?” Ashley didn’t answer, her eyes dropped Spencer’s gaze and landed on the floor. Spencer stepped forward and cupped her face, forcing their eyes to meet. “Is it Ashley or the addict that wants to go back to L.A.?”
“Is there a difference?” She murmured.
“Yes. You’re not the same person when you’re high Ashley.” Her hand slowly slid up her arm, pushing the long sleeve of her jacket up, Spencer ran her thumb over scared tanned skin covering her lover’s damaged wrist. “Would you have done this sober?” The rock star shook her head ‘no’ and then closed the distance between them. She buried her face against Spencer’s neck as the blonde held her. “Does it ever get easy Spencer?” She mumbled against pale flesh. “I haven’t snorted any in forever and it still won’t leave me alone. I’m always thinking about it Spencer. Will it ever go away?”
“Of course it will Baby.” She whispered near her ear. There was so much torment in her lover’s voice, it brought tears to her eyes. She loved Ashley so much and hurt to see her in pain. She wanted more than anything to make it all go away. “I promise it will Ashley.”

Wow! How I have truly missed this. Such an amazing update. I can’t say enough. Love this part of their journey together. I’m glad that Ashley is getting to see that she can be a great person without the drugs. Can’t wait for more. Great writing. Very inspiring.

ashley’s getting along with spencer’s family even if paula and arthur get suspicious every once in a while. i’m glad spence had ashley talk to denny maybe he won’t do any more pot and the scene where he’d said i really think she’d let you do her was hilarous my favorite scene. ash really needs to call brenda and talk to kyla not just text pms
i was late to school cause i started reading at 6:00 am and stilll havnt touched my homework. but luckly getting home to read this motivated me to finish my 5 mile run for track faster

This is such a sweet chapter, thanks for making so long. lol, i love the long chapters. I’m really glad Ashley is deciding to change. These two are so amazing. There’s just a ton of things I’m liking about the story. I love how Paula and Arthur actually like Ashley in this fic. Go figure. Anyway I can’t wait for the next update, i’ll be patient but it won’t be easy. XD
First the smoke blowing: You are an amazing author! I wish you could just knock these posts out every week but I know good things take time and so alas I must wait, thank you though for sharing your talent.Ok, soo interesting, I get the impression that Paula is either A)passive aggressive or B) just really cool with the fact that Ashley and Spencer are seemingly together… Arthur on the other hand seems a little less like he’d be into their relationship…Time will tell I suppose.I love Denny! He’s like a male Ashley…a little more immature but I like him!Also, interesting form of therapy for Ashley…meeting a well adjusted family seems to have helped put a few things into perspective for her. Maybe she needs to stay out of LA, environment is apparently everything…or maybe what Ashley needs to do is turn her actually family into a better one. Hopefully she reconnects with Kyla and her mother, they seem to hold a meaningful soft spot in her heart.PMS PMS PMS
I cannot even tell you how much I loved this update. I took time to read it (3 or 4 days) because I knew it’s gonna take a while for the next update to be posted, so I wanted to savor reading it. I love what you created between Ashley and Spencer…it’s almost something magical. Everytime I read this story I forget everything around me, no lie. (The prologue still worries me, though). I hope Ashley will manage to stay away from the drugs..she’s much better of without them. It probably is gonna take a while, but I hope you’ll update soon-ish. I’m addicted to this story. :P I really am.
I swear i can never get enough of this story… im waiting for something bad to happen though, things are a little too perfect for the girls… o and i cant wait for Spence and Denny to come out to each other
