    I bet. “It’s nice to meet you too.” Ashley stated awkwardly. The older blonde’s actions held her in a state of shock. She wasn’t expecting that as a greeting. “Your house is beautiful.” She added politely. The older blonde shared her lover’s gray eyes and blonde hair, their resemblance was uncanny, Ashley felt herself relax. If Paula was anything like Spencer, she’d be extremely welcoming and very social.

    Paula’s face lit up. “Thank you, I’m glad you like it.” Her eyes moved to the large escalade sitting in the drive way. “Do you need help with the bags?” She looked at the girls with a large smile. “I bet the whole back of that truck is full of them.”

    “You have no idea.” Spencer chuckled. “We’ll get them later. I’m freezing and would love some hot chocolate.”

    “That sounds good right about now.” Paula looked at Ashley. “Do you like hot chocolate?”

    “Hot chocolate sounds great.” Ashley answered convincingly. She didn’t really like hot chocolate, she found coffee more appealing, but decided to drink it anyway. She didn’t want to be the odd man out by saying ‘coffee.’ The rock star questioned her thoughts. She normally didn’t have a problem with telling people what she wanted, even if it was a hassle to get, if she wanted it, she always got it. It confused her that she was settling with something she didn’t like at all.

    Spencer was first to enter the nice two story house. It felt good being back home, she thought while removing her coat and placing it on a nearby coat rack. She turned around and offered to take Ashley’s. The rock star politely declined and followed the two blondes into the living room. It was your typical family room. Very cozy with pictures of the family placed everywhere. There was something missing, Ashley realized while scanning the room. Christmas decorations. She looked at Spencer and noticed the confused look on her face. “Are we skipping out on Christmas this year?” Spencer asked her mother.

    Paula nodded briefly with a sad look in her eyes. She loved Christmas as much as the next person but the year had been so stressful that she decided to completely ignore it. She was too drained from everything else in her life to even think about the hectic holiday. “Caitlyn just got out of the hospital and Christmas is the last thing her tired little body needs.”

    2. Wow! How I have truly missed this. Such an amazing update. I can’t say enough. Love this part of their journey together. I’m glad that Ashley is getting to see that she can be a great person without the drugs. Can’t wait for more. Great writing. Very inspiring.

    5. ashley’s getting along with spencer’s family even if paula and arthur get suspicious every once in a while. i’m glad spence had ashley talk to denny maybe he won’t do any more pot and the scene where he’d said i really think she’d let you do her was hilarous my favorite scene. ash really needs to call brenda and talk to kyla not just text pms

    6. i was late to school cause i started reading at 6:00 am and stilll havnt touched my homework. but luckly getting home to read this motivated me to finish my 5 mile run for track faster

    11. This is such a sweet chapter, thanks for making so long. lol, i love the long chapters. I’m really glad Ashley is deciding to change. These two are so amazing. There’s just a ton of things I’m liking about the story. I love how Paula and Arthur actually like Ashley in this fic. Go figure. Anyway I can’t wait for the next update, i’ll be patient but it won’t be easy. XD

    12. First the smoke blowing: You are an amazing author! I wish you could just knock these posts out every week but I know good things take time and so alas I must wait, thank you though for sharing your talent.Ok, soo interesting, I get the impression that Paula is either A)passive aggressive or B) just really cool with the fact that Ashley and Spencer are seemingly together… Arthur on the other hand seems a little less like he’d be into their relationship…Time will tell I suppose.I love Denny! He’s like a male Ashley…a little more immature but I like him!Also, interesting form of therapy for Ashley…meeting a well adjusted family seems to have helped put a few things into perspective for her. Maybe she needs to stay out of LA, environment is apparently everything…or maybe what Ashley needs to do is turn her actually family into a better one. Hopefully she reconnects with Kyla and her mother, they seem to hold a meaningful soft spot in her heart.PMS PMS PMS

    13. I cannot even tell you how much I loved this update. I took time to read it (3 or 4 days) because I knew it’s gonna take a while for the next update to be posted, so I wanted to savor reading it. I love what you created between Ashley and Spencer…it’s almost something magical. Everytime I read this story I forget everything around me, no lie. (The prologue still worries me, though). I hope Ashley will manage to stay away from the drugs..she’s much better of without them. It probably is gonna take a while, but I hope you’ll update soon-ish. I’m addicted to this story. :P I really am.

    14. I swear i can never get enough of this story… im waiting for something bad to happen though, things are a little too perfect for the girls… o and i cant wait for Spence and Denny to come out to each other
