“Paula, could you please excuse us for a few minutes. I’ll call you back in when we’re done.” Ashley was practically begging the older woman, so she relented and left the room.
When Ashley opened the door Paula rushed back inside and took a seat next to Spencer. Ashley blew Spencer a kiss before walking out into the lobby. Her smiling family was already out there and waiting anxiously and quickly stood up rushing to her for hugs. Arthur was first in line.
“Ashley!! How’s it going? Is she close yet?” He squeezed her tight, kissing her head before releasing her waiting for news. Ashley continued down the line of people as she answered.
“She’s still got a while, but everything’s fine so far. I’m just not happy cusp I didn’t get to finish the baby’s room.”
“I thought you were finishing that today? The room has to air out, you cant do it tomorrow.” Chelsea spoke up.
“I know that. I don’t have much to do. I just have to finish the wall and then put everything back in place. Chelas, think you can help me a bit? After Spencer has the baby? I could use someone with your skills.” Ashley begged. She gave her winning smile before Chelsea relented and nodding to her in agreement.
“Ashley….” Arthur was looking at Ashley in confusion. “Why are you all scratched up? And why is there a twig in your hair?” he reached forward plucking it from the mess of unruly curls.
“Um… When we left I kinda sorta forgot the keys.” Ashley lowered her head in embarrassment as the rest of the family laughed.
“Don’t worry sweety…” Arthur closed the space between them as he placed a comforting arm around her shoulders. “When Paula had Glen, we got all the way to the hospital before I realized that I was in my underwear. Then with Spencer, I left the car in the unloading zone, door open and car still on. They ended up towing it and giving the keys to the front desk.”
“Yeah Ash, I got all the way down the street and around the block before Chelsea called to remind me to take her to the hospital.” Clay gave her an assuring smile.

I cant believe Paula! She’s going to miss out on her daughter and granddaughters life cause she’s so close minded! And pulling that stunt with Scott…not cool. I’m so glad they got through it though! And Spencer told her to leave! I really love this story, its so much more in depth about the girls and their lives together! PMS!

First of all, thanks for the long update. Secondly, this chapter had every emotion imaginable, joy of a beautiful baby girl, laughter when Spencer was squeezing Ashley’s hand, anger when Paula brought Scott into the picture, hatred just because Paula exists, and sheer happiness because Spencer & Ashley have now begun the journey of parenthood with the one they love. Excellent writing! PMS

OK FYI I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE NAME MY DAUGHTER’S NAME IS CADENCE ANNE AND I WANTED SOOO BAD TO NAME HER KENNEDY BUT WE DIDN’T AGREE SO WE ENDED UP NAMING HER CADENCE BUT DAAAAAAAAAAMN I LOVE THAT NAME SO MUCH.
