    Flipside – (Chapter: The Kiss)

    “Who do you write your songs for?”  I asked her back.  My heart started racing as I watched her, almost as if she was in slow motion.

    "You."

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I would love to say that that is the exact way things went down but of course it could never happen my way.  But wouldn’t have that been so romantic! Anyways, let’s see what she really said…
    “Uh uh Carlin, I asked you first.  Plus why are you so flustered?  It was so long ago.”  She smiled at me.  For a second there I had full control and now I’m back feeling vulnerable.
    “I…don’t remember.”  I lied teasing her a little.  She knew who it was, so what was wrong with a little bit of fun?  Unless she didn’t know.  Why do girls have to be so confusing sometimes?
    “Gosh.  Why do girls have to be so confusing?”  She asked me and gently pushed me aside playfully.  I laughed with her a little bit until it fell silent.
    “Well the house is amazing.” I exclaimed.  “Maybe you could give me the tour?”  She smiled at me and nodded.  After the tour Ashley decided to take a quick shower.  I ended up looking at some picture frames by her baby grand piano.  There were pictures of Aiden and Kyla, and some other people who I was guessing were in the music business, and there were also pictures of us in high school.  I smiled as slid my hand over the pictures, remember each one. My hand stopped as my eyes fell on a book of songs called “Book of Songs.”  Clever huh?  For a second I thought of just leaving it be, but then I thought that it wouldn’t be out in the open if it wasn’t meant to be seen.  I opened up the cover to find a title page.  I smiled as I scanned down the names of the songs.  I was surprised to see that I knew most of them.  In fact a lot of them I could even say were sung by some of my favorite artists, and the other ones I would definitely have to remember to hear.
    “There you are.”  I turned around to see Ashley damping her hair with her towel.
