    Flipside – (Chapter: The Kiss)

“You really wrote all these?”  I had to say something and that was the only thing I could get out.  Let’s just say me staring at her in a wife beater and shorts wouldn’t really start the best conversation.

“Yeah.”  She smiled and headed over to me tossing the towel on a nearby chair.  She came up behind me.  Our bodies were so close that I could feel the warmth of her recent shower radiating off of her.

“Those are a lot of my old ones.  I started writing songs for bands before I got into performing.  I’m just glad that now I can finally write for me.   I’ve been working on some new stuff lately though.”

“Can I hear some?”  At the moment my question was asked her face got bright red.

“I don’t know Spence.”  She told me.

“Wow.  Ashley Davies is embarrassed to perform?”  I laughed a little teasingly.

“You know I’m never embarrassed to perform, Spence.”  She gave me a wink and moved towards the baby grand piano.  I’m pretty sure that her last statement had a double meaning but I didn’t want to give my hopes up.  I took a seat and looked at her, waiting for her to play.

“I don’t know what to play.”  She laughed and put her head in her hands.

“Just play your most recent stuff.”  I was excited.  I hadn’t really heard Ashley sing in a while, and I always loved her voice.  She started to play.

Oh no, this couldn’t be more unexpected
And I can tell that I’ve been moving in so slow
Don’t let it throw you off too far
Cause I’ll be running right behind you

Could this be out of line?
To say you’re the only one breaking me down like this
You’re the only one I would take a shot on
Keep me hanging on so contagiously

Oohhh, when I’m around you I’m predictable
Cause I believe in loving you at first sight
I know it’s crazy but I’m hoping to..
To take a hold of you

Could this be out of line?
To say you’re the only one breaking me down like this
You’re the only one I would take a shot on
Keep me hanging on so contagiously
