For the Love of Bella
“Hey guys, did either of you make breakfast? I am starving!”
“Sorry Bella. We need to go shopping, there is nothing in the fridge.” Jasper said with a small frown to his brow.
I guess it was going to be another Starbucks day. Four shot Latte and ham sandwich here I come! As I was running out the door, Emmett ran after me.
“Hey Bells, don’t forget that tonight is our costume party! Don’t work overtime because you need to get this house ready to have people over.”
“What? I need to get the house ready? What about the fact that this is your house too and that the costume party was your idea?”
“Sorry Bells, I got to go pick up the Keg and drinks for tonight.” Smiling that devilish grin of his, knowing all to well that he was skipping out on the hard part. Again.
“Fine, fine” Waving my hand in a dismissal I started to walk to my car.
“Oh, and Bells? Don’t worry about your costume tonight, I already picked it up for you. I will put it on your bed.”
Great! He better have picked up the costume of a medieval lady that I wanted and not some hooker costume. I couldn’t handle another one of those embarrassing moments. This party, and the others that we have had over the past few years, is Emmett’s way of trying to get my mind off of Edward. As much of a sexist pig that he is, and how he tries to pretend like he didn’t have a heart, I saw beyond it when we had these parties. He also conveniently always had one or two of his guy friends there to introduce me to.
Well, maybe he had a point. Maybe it was time for me to leave the past in the past and move on. Did I have the courage or the strength to do it? My birthday was only a week from today, Friday. I was going to be twenty four. I should probably start thinking about the possibility of a relationship if I wanted to start feeling normal at all. Jasper and Emmett have had their share of women come over to the house while I have had nobody. I had the feeling of being empty, both emotionally and physically, on more than one occasion. Could I find someone to fill both of these voids for me?
