I decided to take a dip in the pool after my morning shoot around, get my mind off of things, loosen the muscles and clear my head. The water always helps me to think, much like running does, after I finished swimming some laps I was wading in the deep end, tilting my head back slightly so I could just relax and look up to the sky. It was a clear bright day but there was no sun, come to think of it there were no clouds either and the sky was a funny shade of blue. It quickly turned to light grey and before I knew it I was staring into a dark grey canvas.

Suddenly something grabbed my ankle and pulled me under, Aiden liked to joke around when we were little but he knew better not to do it now. As I fought to get back up to the surface the grip on me tightened and it got harder and harder to swim and it was getting harder and harder to breath. My sight was getting cloudy and my eyes were burning, like they were on fire, my lungs felt like they were about to explode.

And suddenly I see her.

Standing above me, looking down at me with confusion on her face.

She looks like an angel, a soft yellow glow was around her, all sound is cut off and everything seemed to be happening in slow motion. All I could hear was the thunderous beat of my heart that was pounding in my body, all I could feel was the weight of what was pulling me down and all I could think about was the regret I had in my heart.

Just as my eyes closed for what felt like the final time and my breathing was becoming exhausted I hit surface, not on my own but with the help of my angel. I stared into her eyes and found myself lost. Lost in the moment, lost in my life, lost is my own mind.

She opened her mouth to say something but all that came out was lyrics to a song.

A very familiar song.
