I Could Never Forget About You – (Chapter: Morning breath)

“Wait. I have morning breath.” Is she serious right now?

“Yeah…So what? So do I,” I pull her closer to me. For a second it looks like she’s about to give in, but like she did before she quickly pulls back.

                    “Yeah, but…I mean…” She’s embarrassed. I find it endearing.

“You’re so weird.” I shove her lightly, also making my way closer to her in the process.

“Whatever.” She scoffs. I turn to her and take my hand out from under the cover to start tracing imaginary lines on her stomach.

“So, what do we do now?” I ask quietly.

“I don’t know.” She replies, looking deep into my eyes. I can’t help it but I keep sneaking glances at her lips.

“I want to kiss you.” I confess softly earning a tight lipped smile in return.

“So do I,” She replies, matching my tone.

“But,” I sigh. “I guess I can settle for cuddling.”

“Cuddling? I don’t cuddle.” That’s funny because that’s not how I remember it at all.

“Oh really? Well correct me if I’m wrong but…weren’t you the one who always wanted to cuddle in high school.” I say, propping my head on my hand.

“No.” She’s such a liar. And that smile on her face isn’t telling me different.

“Oh yes, yes it was you.” I reply matter-of-factly.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She turns her face around so she isn’t looking at me. Unfortunately for her I can still see her smile.

“Will you just hold me already?” I demand, pulling her body into mine.

We’re facing one another, holding each other close enough, but still leaving some room between us. She takes my hand and laces our fingers together.

“I love you too by the way.” She softly speaks after we settled ourselves into a comfortable silence. No matter how much I want it to, the cheeky grin on my face just won’t go away.

                    “Oh really?” I ask.

“Yeah, I kind of do,” She replies. Her eyes never leave our hands, which seem to be on display.
