Los Angeles Breeds Forbidden Love – (Chapter: Eight- Headaches and Heartaches)

“It’s fine. I’m sure if you were in the same place you’d do the same thing…” She spoke, waving her hand carelessly. She didn’t really believe that, but she was never too good at accepting gratitude.

“I doubt it.” Spencer replied honestly, surprising Ashley a bit. “It was just such a considerate thing for you to do and… I just… Ugh.” She groaned, burying her face in her hands. Why did this girl have to make it so hard to hate her?

“What?” The brunette probed, browed arched curiously as she folded her arms. Spencer looked so distressed, and it really was peaking her interest.

“I wish you’d just be mean to me. It’d be so much easier, then I could just write you off as a fiancé stealing bitch and move on…. But if your nice, then I actually have to think of you as a person with feelings and it makes everything so much more complicated.” She tried to explain her thought process, her eyes staring up at the girl for any hint of recognition.

“Well then, let me state this in a way that will appeal to your needs. Bitch, get out of my house.” It would have sounded incredibly harsh if a smirk hadn’t been tempting her lips the entire time. When Spencer choked a laugh the smirk grew into a grin, and Ashley cast her gaze down to her feet.

“Did I really puke in your car?” Spencer asked after a moment, looking vaguely mortified as she scuffed at the carpet with her toe.

“Unfortunately, yes. You really, really did.” Ashley confirmed, cringing slightly at the thought. She slowly shook her head side to side at the ridiculousness of this whole situation, her lips twitching in a smile.

“Sorry about that….” She looked even more embarrassed, her hands rubbing her forearms as if she was cold. “I’ll pay for it to get cleaned, I promise.”

A small shrug was her reply as she leaned against the wall, observing Spencer’s actions. She noticed that she did this little head tilt thing when she was asking a question, and the brunette was finding it increasingly endearing. This wasn’t going so bad at all. “Do you want me to give you a ride home? I mean, the car smells, but it is tolerable…Ish.”
