    Chapter Fourteen: Mistaken

“Ash, who was that?” The dark haired woman inquired as she slipped her arms around Ashley’s slender waist. She was surprised when the girl jerked away from her touch, her body stiff as a board.

“Don’t.” Was all she said, eyes still glued to the spot on the road where Spencer’s car had disappeared. She had this horrible empty feeling in her gut, and instead of being tempted to cry her eyes felt painfully dry.

“What? What’s wrong?” She pressed, brows pressed together as she once again hazarded a reach towards Ashley. And again Ashley yanked away, this time shooting her a filthy look.

“Elli, I said don’t.” She reiterated, looking disgusted as she stared at the girl before her. It wasn’t that Elli wasn’t pretty, she was, but Ashley was currently revolted by her. She wasn’t what she wanted. She wasn’t Spencer. And for that, Ashley couldn’t even stand to be around her.

“Who the hell was that who came here Ashley?” Elli demanded, annoyed now by the ever changing Ashley Davies. Her mood swings lately were getting on her nerves, and she had little patience for it.

“…Fuck..” Ashley muttered to herself, ignoring the girl as she rubbed her face. Spencer had looked so hurt, and after that confession… God, it was going to take a lot of effort to repair the damage caused by all of this. She only hoped Spencer wouldn’t do something rash, she wasn’t exactly the most mentally stable person Ashley knew.

“Fine? You don’t want to talk to me? Then I’m leaving!” The woman yelled before turning away from her, storming over to her car. Ashley hardly noticed, her mind was far too preoccupied. Actually, she was a bit relieved Elli was leaving, she had more important things to worry about now.

She’d been close to positive that Spencer was over her after she’d essentially just up and disappeared for two weeks. It hadn’t been easy dealing with the denial, and Ashley was only human. That was of course where Elli came in. She was easy, in every sense of the word. She was someone who Ashley knew she could just as quickly get into bed as she could get her out the door. And that’s all she’d been, just a quick fix. She didn’t mean a single damn thing to her, which was something Spencer in all probability wouldn’t understand. Spencer didn’t seem like the kind of girl who fucks around to feel better. That was one of the reasons Ashley was attracted to her so much, because she was just such a good person.
