    Chapter Ten: The Anti-Date

“I don’t own any nice clothes.” Spencer concluded as she searched her wardrobe for the seventh time. She was growing frustrated, and the longer she looked the more she realized that the reason she was lacking formal wear was because she and Sarah never went anywhere. How could she have been so blind before? She used to love going out, seeing new places, wearing nice clothes, but slowly she’d been weaned off of that. She had grown accustomed to staying at home, doing chores and spending the evening in front of the TV. Some life.

She moved on to the downstairs closet, rifling through it’s contents and carelessly discarding clothing onto the floor. It was then she found what she’d been seeking, and she gave a small squeal of delight.

“You okay Spence?” Glen called down from the top of the staircase, and Spencer smothered a groan. She wished he would just leave, she really had no urges to hurt herself any longer. She wouldn’t let someone else’s actions ever push her to that point again. No matter what.

“I’m fine, just found what I was looking for.” She replied, pulling out of the closet and holding the magnificent piece of silky cloth in full length before her eyes. It truly was a gorgeous dress, and when she put it on, it clung in all the right places. Pleased with her discovery, the eager blonde scurried into her bedroom to put it on. Despite her reservations with Ashley, she was excited for tonight, it’d give her a chance to be out in the open again.

The dress was brilliant, and the way it fit was nothing short of perfect. Even Spencer, with her low self esteem in tow, could see how well it’s royal blue shade complimented both her skin tone and eyes. It’s low scooping back did make her feel a bit self conscious, but the shape it gave to her figure was well worth the sacrifice of a little exposed skin. For some reason, she really wanted to ‘wow’ Ashley tonight. Maybe she just wanted to prove her worth, or perhaps she just needed to make her completely forget that Sarah ever existed. It could be like her own secret revenge.

    1. Brilliantly written! I couldn’t imagine kissing the woman that had an affair with my wife and even liking it, but you managed to make me believe and actually enjoy it in the process. I absolutely adore this story! PMS
