Love is not which alters – (Chapter: 1)

No such luck, another knock as the door slowly opens. God, here we go, again.

“Spencer?, dad said to tell you that ‘dinner is ready…and that yes you have to eat with us…like every other night that you have…your entire life’.” clay said as he slowly approached me at my desk where I was attempting to try out this whole homework thing.

There I was sitting with my head down just staring at my blank notebook paper with my calculus textbook open at page427. My hair jet black just below my slim shoulders, underneath an old ‘Pink Floyd’-Dark side or the Moon t-shirt, clad with worn down jeans with a hole on the right knee held up with a black studded belt. I raise my head so I look into the mirror and have Clay staring right back at me. So there we are just staring at one-another, I swear sometimes I wonder how people can possibly be so damn clueless at their own surroundings.

Now Clay is a great guy, my own dumb-ass or a brothers best friend. He practically lives at our house. I mean he’s hear so much that he calls my dad, Arthur Carlin, Dad and my mom, Paula, mom. I wonder as to why he’s even friends with Glen in the first place. I mean Glen is a complete and utter jack-ass and total definition of the typical JOCK. Then there’s Clay, and well like I said before he’s great, sometimes I wish he was my brother instead, even though it feels like he is most of the time. He’s really smart and gentle and has a huge heart. When we all younger, my brother 2 years older than myself and Clay the same age as him bar a few months difference, I used to follow Clay around like a lost little puppy dog. I would think that he was the best person that roamed the face of the earth, sometimes I still think that about him when he is the only one that at moments can see past this facade that I have created for myself to protect what is left of me. But when that does happens and as rare at it is because I automatically rectify the situation but pulling back into the deep abyss that exists within my soul. And then the moment is gone as fast as it began within a blink of an eye.
