makedamnsure – (Chapter: Six: Pieces Mended)
Ashley sighed and stretched out on Spencer’s bed and almost moaned out loud. Spencer’s bed felt amazing. It was just the perfect balance between comfy and supportive. Ashley yawned. The past week had been long and hard, what with the touch-and-go encounters she had with Spencer and all the homework assignments Billiard Academy was notorious for. It didn’t take long before Ashley fell asleep with a smile on her face.
“Ashley? Ashleyyyyy…”
Ashley heard someone calling her name and knew she was supposed to wake up, but Sleepyland was just too inviting. “Go ‘way,” Ashley mumbled.
“Ashley!” Now the voice was poking her too!
“This isn’t Facebook. No poking allowed,” Ashley said sleepily. The voice was laughing now. Ashley’s eyes snapped open and her brows furrowed in confusion when she took in her unfamiliar surroundings. Ashley bolted upright in panic, accidentally smashing her forehead into Spencer’s chin.
“Fuck!” both girls screamed in unison, each clutching at their respective injuries.
“Oh shit shit shit bloody fuck,” Ashley mumbled as she scrambled to get to Spencer. The blonde girl’s eyes were screwed shut in pain and her jaw was tense. “Spencer? Spencer, are you okay?”
Spencer grimaced. “Ith think I bith by tongth!”
“Lemme see!” Ashley demanded. Spencer stuck out her tongue. “Well, I don’t see any blood,” Ashley said, peering at Spencer’s tongue.
“Youh surh?” Spencer mumbled.
Ashley laughed. “Yes Spence, I’m sure. Now put your tongue back in your mouth. I need to talk to you.”
Spencer squinted at the brunette. “This must be a record for you. First you hurt me with your words, then you hurt me physically.”
“You’re not making it any easier, Spencer!” Ashley wailed, wringing her hands.
Spencer mumbled an apology and mimed zipping her mouth shut. She handed her imaginary key to Ashley. Ashley raised her eyebrow at Spencer but took the imaginary key. “Okay, so listen. I’m really sorry about what I said earlier. I know I was an ass for saying that, and I know you’re not like that. I don’t even know why I would say something like that.”
Spencer opened her mouth to interject, but Ashley beat her to it. “Uh-uh-uh Spence! I’ve got the key!” Ashley reminded, holding up her imaginary key. “Actually, I do know why I said that. See, when I was in Paris, the first time I ever slept with someone I’ve just met, it got me into a whole lot of trouble. Not you’re-grounded trouble, or even the STD-kind of trouble, but the kind where I would get sent to jail and be some scary lady’s bitch. And it was tough for me, but I learned something from that. When people find out who I really am, they try to use me, either for my money, or as a fuck trophy.”
