Memoirs of Her Scent
Ch.1: First Sight
I don’t know what came over me, what came over any of us for that matter that made us decide to make a bet against Alice, my sweet Alice. What, with her uncanny capability of being able to look into the future and her blinded confidence in her visions becoming reality, which they would, who could blame her for being so over confident? Sure, I loved to bet, Emmet and I were great at betting and challenging each other to proof who was better at being a vampire, silly really, but still something that we all enjoyed as a family; but this time around it was different from any other bets that we had ever made.
Because this time, this time I had to disagree with my lovely Alice, it couldn’t be true… Edward, the over-thinker, breaking the rules by talking more than his share and telling a human girl about us, and no less, was bringing her here into our home to introduce her to us as his most precious reason for living? Nah- Preposterous, Edward, my brother wouldn’t do that. I couldn’t and wouldn’t agree with my precious Alice on that, I loved her but we still, like any other couple, had things we disagreed on, in fact the understanding of our differentiating disagreements had strengthened us over the years… God, how, I loved her. Sometimes it felt like I couldn’t have enough of her!
Her silvery voice, the way she seemed to dance her way towards me with so much grace as she walked; her optimism and, yes, even her addiction with fashion… it could sometimes rub off on you. But more of that later, there’s a more pressing matter at hand that I must figure out. Perhaps he had a plan and he was luring her, she must be nothing but prey to him, but then, that wouldn’t precisely add up, we where vegetarians after all. I chuckled at our inner joke, vegetarians. Sure every once in a decade one of us would slip, mostly me, but still we tried hard not to disillusion Carlisle, our father, and kept our diet on check, always straying away from temptation in; far away in my case.
