    Mothers' Coherent Regards

It took everything I had to remain falsely-sleeping in front of her, as her mind thought of many thoughts that were not-so-folly at all. I wanted to tell her, to assure her, that I would keep her daughter safe no matter what happened. I felt terribly guilty, discovering her confessions of having nightmares of her daughter disappearing. Of living in fear that her daughter would one day vanish from her sight. From her mothers arms.

And I was the one who would be taking her away.

Guilt, yes. I felt terribly guilty for being to the who would whisk her away from her family, friends…humanity. But I would never once regret it. Not in my life-time, and even after that, if possible. That would not change.

I wondered how she would react if she discovered that her daughter would become a vampire? A blood-sucking night-walker? A walking corpse? That she would soon turn her back on the a normal, human life all because of one man?

I winced at those words. They saddened me. They also made me unbearably happy.

“But how?” is what I wanted to know. How could I convince her that I would love and protect Bella forever, no matter where we were? No matter what she was. How could I ease her fears and worries, to the slightest margent at least? How could I apologize for taking her only daughter away, and still ask for her blessings, or at least forgiveness? I was unable to devise a solution to my wishes. There was no way I could tell her all of this without her either calling the cops because I sound like some obsessive psycho-stalker, or figuring it out, she being so perceptive. I would have to show her through my actions. Whatever those would be, of course.

“Well, we have three days to see how things turn out,” I thought warily. What a long three days this was going to be.
