    Spencer gives Ashley a shocking dose of reality.

    “I need coffee,” Ashley said, turning over to face Spencer.

    “Oh my God…yes…coffee…good,” Spencer muttered, running her fingers through Ashley’s unruly hair.

    They had spent the entire night getting reacquainted, and now that they were properly re-introduced, the lack of sleep was starting to take its toll. Even in the moments when they would withdraw fingers and attempt to rest, they couldn’t sleep. Spencer clung to Ashley as if she could lose her at any minute, anchoring her down like an insecure rock. Ashley woke up every half hour to make sure Spencer was still in her arms and that the previous night hadn’t been some kind of cruel dream.

    “I’m going to go turn the coffeemaker on, ok?” Ashley said, sitting up.

    “No! Don’t go…”

    “Spence?”

    “Yeah?”

    “How are we going to have coffee if I don’t turn the coffeemaker on?” Ashley asked with a smile.

    “Um…I don’t know.”

    “Exactly.”

    “Fine, but I’m coming with you.”

    They walked side by side into Ashley’s kitchen, Spencer hoisting herself onto the counter while Ashley poured the coffee grounds into the filter.

    “The view is really nice from here,” Spencer said, admiring Ashley in her tight-fitting boy shorts and sheer white tank-top.

    “Oh yeah?”

    “Yeah…”

    Then they were silent, the only noise filling the loft was the consistent trickling of the coffee brewing and the occasional sound of muffled voices from the street below.

    “So, my class is performing their play next week,” Spencer said suddenly.

    “Awesome, should I come?”

    “If you want.”

    “I want.”

    “Then come.”

    “I will. And I’ll even bring flowers for the director and everything.”

    “Director…hardly. I spent most of my time trying to prevent them from stabbing each other to death with cardboard swords.”

    “Hey, that sounds like quite the accomplishment to me.”

    Spencer smiled, “They drive me crazy, but I love those kids.”

    “I can tell,” Ashley said, handing Spencer an oversized cup of coffee.

    “I’d really like…” she hesitated, choosing her words carefully, “I’d really like to have a child of my own soon, you know?”

    Ashley swallowed, “Like…how soon?”

    “I don’t know. I mean, now is a good a time as any, right? I don’t really know what I’m waiting for.”

    “Are you saying you want to try to get…pregnant?”

    7. meatloaf and jello weird combination just like ash and spence, two opposites that taste great together, well if meatloaf did taste good with jello never tried it so don’t know but you get the analogy i made. lol great update can’t wait for the next post and i agree with Aiden i think spence was hinting at marriage with make every commintment to her…

    11. I see both viewpoints here. Ashley wants to make sure their relationship is solid before they bring a little person into the picture. Spencer knows this is it for her and is ready to make some major commitments. But can you really blame Ashley for being hesitant about making those commitments? Didn’t Spencer say last time that they were going to be together forever and they still broke up? I would be hesitant too. I don’t really think it’s fair for Spencer to make such demands when she’s the one who has been hesitant about their relationship all along. Why would Ashley suddenly not be afraid to commit to Spencer after Spencer’s history? I think maybe Ashley’s going to have to take a leap of faith with this one. Anyway, those are my thoughts. Great update!!
