Ashley swore that her heart had plummeted to her feet as she stood, staring at the name on the small screen. Erin. Erin, the same girl who had woven herself in and out of Ashley’s life whenever she got bored. Erin, who had left her naked and alone in a hotel room three years ago to follow her favorite band across the country. Erin, who’s name was now illuminated in blue on Ashley’s cell phone.
“Who is it, Ash?”
Spencer. Ashley had almost forgotten that Spencer was in the room, but she was jolted into the present as the blonde sat up in bed, a confused expression spreading quickly across her face and asked the last question Ashley wanted to hear.
“Um…” She stalled, silencing the ringer and sitting the phone back on the dresser, “it’s…it’s…”
She could lie. That would’ve been her natural reaction a few years ago—the last time she had heard from Erin—but she couldn’t bring herself to do it now, no matter the greatness of the temptation. It was amazing what the power of a little gold wedding band could do.
“It’s Erin,” she said plainly, taking a deep breath and bracing herself for another fight.
“Oh, tell her I said hi. I think I’m going to order room service, ok? You want anything?”
“Uh, just get me whatever you’re having,” Ashley replied, wondering when the yelling would start.
“Cool.”
Spencer walked into the living room area of their huge honeymoon suite. Ashley waited until she heard Spencer’s voice before looking back at her phone.
1 Missed Call.
Ashley steadied herself and called the number back. The phone only rang once before Erin’s familiar voice entered the brunette’s ear.
“Ash?”
“Yeah, it’s me.”
“Hey, I was just leaving you a message.”
“Oh.”
“Well, what’s going on? How are you?”
“I’m…I’m good.”
“Yeah? You sound a little weird.”
“I just…why are you calling me?” Ashley asked, bluntly. Spencer would be off the phone at any minute. There was no need in wasting time.
“Good to know you still cut to the chase,” Erin said with a laugh, “I’m in town. Can I see you?”
“I’m not in L.A.”
“Oh, you moved? Where are you?”
“I’m in Hawaii.”
“You moved to Hawaii. Nice!”

What do you mean the ending is anything but fluffy and enjoy it while we can? You have me a little worried with that statement. After taking us through hell and back with these two, please don’t end things badly for them. You evil genius you. At least Ashley didn’t hide anything from Erin or Spencer about her current situation. Open communication is always the key. I’ll be sad when this story ends. Especially if you end it without Spashley together. Please don’t?! :(

Thank you for the bonus chapter I liked the way Spencer handled Erin calling Ashley, very grown up. Great chapter! You indicated that the final chapter is no where near to fluff. I’m intrigued and scared at the same time. Looking forward to the finale! :) Post soon!
