“Aww, I love when you get all defensive. And I appreciate that you were trying to fix it. But I think we should call the landlord…let him deal with it,” Spencer said to a frowning Ashley, “so, we better get you out of these wet clothes, huh?”
“Yeah, that’s one thing I can fix,” the brunette replied, sliding her wet-shirt up and over her head.
“And for once, I have a few ideas to help…”
“Spence?” Lindsay said, interrupting Spencer’s thoughts.
“Oh. Yeah, so anyway…I’ll invite her to the wedding, but I can almost promise you she won’t come.”
“I wouldn’t either if I wanted the bride.”
“I’m sure she’ll have something work-related to do. She always does. Besides, Ashley doesn’t want me.”
“Whatever.”
Ashley was in her fifth meeting of the day. She worked at one of the top advertising agencies in the city. That’s not to say that she didn’t have to work her ass off to get it. Ashley dove head-first into school after breaking up with Spencer for the final time, graduating with a solid enough GPA to get into the grad school of her choice. After she finished there she followed through on an offer she received from an agency she interned with in college and now here she was…in her fifth meeting of the day.
“Davies, you’ll have your presentation ready to go tomorrow for Buchanan, right?” her boss asked.
“Of course. You know me better than that, Steve,” she said, flashing a smile and leaning slightly over to also flash two of the reasons her boss never cared when she came in two hours late.
“Of course, Davies. What was I thinking?”
After work, Ashley hurried home. After throwing her briefcase on her brand-new couch, she rifled through her refrigerator finally settling on leftovers from her business dinner from the previous night.
“Welcome home,” she said to herself, her voice echoing through her modern—and expensive—LA loft. That’s when she realized something was bothering her. It was a noise and it was annoying and incessant.
“What the hell…” Ashley said, searching for the source of annoyance. She finally discovered that it was her answering machine, beeping and blinking every two seconds. Ashley made her way over to the machine, silencing it and allowing the voices of clients and one-night stands to replace the beeping.
“Hey, Ashley. This is Melissa from Saturday night. I just wanted to let you know that I had a lot of fun with you and I’d love to see you again…like, soon. Ok? Ok, Love, talk to you later. Buh-bye.”
“Or how about never?” Ashley said in response to the high-pitched voice of a girl she had hoped to never hear from again.
The next message played, “Hi, Ashley. This is Lindsay. I know…I know, you’re wondering why I’m calling you. I just thought you should know…Spencer’s getting married soon or civil union-ed or whatever they call it, like in a month and I thought you should know. I guess it’s not really my place to tell you but I was worried that she wouldn’t tell you. If you talk to her, try not to tell her that I told you though, ok? I guess that’s it. Oh, and Ashley…I think you guys should talk. I’m just saying. Ok, bye.”

so…every so often i skim this site for new chapters but suddenly, i see goaskalice…goaskalice? sounds soo familiar….and then i move to North of Somewhere! *gasp* She’s back! after what? a year now. i’ve missed your writing so much…thanks for coming back
And here I thought Ashley and Spencer lived happily ever after. I should have known they would break up again. These two just can seem to make it stick. So why did they break up for the final time? I hope Ashley decides that it’s time to go after Spencer. I haven’t read this story in a long time. I think it might be time to read it again. Awesome that you brought it back!
ok i just read ur whole story and let me just say its pretty fucking awsome!!!lol i meen i love the drama and everything with the on and off relationship, like that is how i would want the show to go, but as long as at the end they are together and happy and yeah all spashleyness then im happy lol, anyway great job u are a GREAT writer …PMS

Wow…it’s been a while since I read your fic..I think I am out of the loop a little bit here…This is update was intense…now see….what I don’t get is the fact that Spencer believes by marrying Rachel she will be happy…but she knows she is not happy with Rachel she is just trying to fill the void…now, that to me scream IDIOT…I love Lindsay….I do…Hopefully, Ashley talks to Spencer and then can work out their shit because the only people who should be getting married is Ashley and Spencer…THE END…Awesome Post…can’t wait to read more…I think I will have to go back and re-read your earlier posts so I can get familiar again…PMS
