Not Ready to Make Nice
I’m just so mad that I actually went along with it like nothing was going on. Like there wasn’t something…someone else on your mind.
Can’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should
People are telling me that I should just move on. The phrase, “easier said than done,” has never rang more true to me.
I know you said “Can’t you just get over it?”
You actually had the nerve to tell me to get over it. Yeah, because that’s just so easy to do. Get over it; you said it like I failed a test and should just “get over it.” I never knew you could be so heartless.
It turned my whole world around
Everything we had made me have a whole new perspective on life. The way I think, the way I act, the way I live. It’s all different, now.
And I kind of like it
I like how I’ve changed. I’m not denying the way I feel, and I’m not looking for ways to try and justify those feelings. I wouldn’t go back for anything.
I made my bed and I sleep like a baby
I don’t have any trouble sleeping. You’d figure I would, seeing as how things like this pretty much have the stereotype of sleepless nights. But no, not me.
With no regrets
I don’t regret anything I ever had with you. I don’t regret what I said, how I felt, or what I did. I wouldn’t do anything differently if given another chance.
And I don’t mind sayin’ it’s a sad sad story when a mother will teach her daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger
I remember how Mom never liked you. She always thought you were corrupting me. Who knows, maybe you did, maybe you didn’t. Either way, she wanted me to hate you…your kind of people. Later on, I figured out that had I listened to her, I would have been hating myself.
And how in the world can the words that I said send somebody so over the edge that they’d write me a letter sayin’ that I better shut up and sing or my life will be over

Well, now I’m officially depressed. Thanks for that. Maybe you could do a continuation and make Spashley happy again? Cool use of the Dixie Chicks song though.
Wow.. that is just heartbreaking..
insertcleveranswer-Sorry I depressed you. And I don’t know about a continuation. I’ll think it over. Thanks for the comment.frakin08-Yeah, it is pretty heartbreaking, but it’s what came to mind when I heard the song, and I had a screaming urge to write it down. I hope I didn’t depress you, as well. Thanks for the comment.=S

Brownie points? Sweet, thanks. And yeah, I don’t like country either, but a friend of mine made me listen to the song and, well, the rest is history.
