    Author Notes:

    “Fine if that’s true then this engagement is over Aiden!!! We’re done!!” I scream

    She just shakes her head.

    I just nod and pull up her shirt. I want to know why she was holding her side. The reason for it made me gasp. The right side of her ribs was completely black and blue. I immediately start running my fingers firmly up and down her side. She cries out in pain while I murmur apologies, over and over again. I do the same thing to her other side but that side seemed to be okay. When I finish I ask quietly, “Does anything hurt?”

    Again she shakes her head no.

    “Ash baby, I want to take you to the hospital to get an x-ray. I want to make sure nothing is broken.” I say firmly

    Fresh tears begin running down her face as she softly sobs, “No hospitals, please. No hospitals.”

    “But Ashley…” I begin to argue but she cuts me off when she sits up, grabs on to my neck and sobs into it, “Please, don’t make me go.”

    I just sigh as the tears that I had holding back begin running down my face. I just wrap my arms loosely around while I murmur soothing words into her soft brown curls. After a few minutes I begin pulling back slowly while saying, “Lay back down baby. I’m going to go get you some medicine and ice.”

    I can tell she hesitantly lets go and does what I ask. I walk in to the kitchen, grab a couple of ice packs I had in the refrigerator, find some left over ibuprofen I had and made a call to a 24 hour pharmacy I knew about. I call in a pain prescription in case the ibuprofen doesn’t do the trick for her. I walk back into the bedroom put everything I had on the nightstand and go to the bathroom to get her a cup of water. I go back, sit down on the side of the bed, made her sit up so that she could take the ibuprofen and as she was doing that I begin to unbutton her shirt. She looks at me a little surprised and I say, “I need to take it off so that I can put some ice on you.”

    She smiles a little and nods her head. As soon as she lies back I put the ice on her bruised ribs making her cry out a little. Again I murmur apologies to her as I place the other bag of ice on the side of her face. She closes her eyes and I just watch her for a few minutes trying to figure out what happened. I couldn’t help but think, who would want to hurt her? She’s so sweet, shy and gentle. She’s so beautiful, in every way.

    19. I KNEW IT! I called it, I said that asshole was abusive. I hope Spencer does kill him or gets someone else to kill him so she won’t be the one to go to jail. This is where the mafia should come back. Spencer’s so protective, taking care of Ash like that. I did like that part. I can’t wait for karma to bite that bastard in the ass. Greate update, PMASAP!!!!!!
