One Night Stand – (Chapter: Meet the Parents)

“No, no, this is my problem. I’ll deal with her. With any luck she’ll be on her good behavior because she wants money out of me.” Ashley says softly. I can see the pain in her eyes and tears at me.
I quickly finish up her finger and when I’m done I kiss it and says quietly,” I won’t let her hurt you, beautiful. Promise.”
Ashley just kisses my forehead and walks out of the bathroom while she says, “Got to get back to Kyla because if I don’t she’ll probably let everything burn.”
I shake my head and follow her back into the kitchen thinking this is going to be a very long night. When Ashley sees Kyla she asks, “So are you going to stay?”
Kyla looks at her surprised and asks, “You’re not mad?”
“No, I should have just talked to her when she called. It would have saved us all of this grief.” Ashley shrugs as she starts cutting vegetables
“I’m sorry Ash.” Kyla says quietly
“It’s okay. But go get changed. I need someone to distract as much as possible and Spencer’s parents are going to be here any minute.” Ashley says
“I’ll be back in 30 minutes.” Kyla smiles as she begins to leave the kitchen
“You’ll be back in less time than that since you’re not leaving, “Ashley mutters and then says to me, “Babe, show her where all my stuff is so that she can change, please.”
“Okay, beautiful, “I say to Ashley and then begin to walk out of the kitchen. When I notice nobody is following me I call out, “Kyla get in here. It’s getting late.”
I hear her running in to the bedroom. I guess she was surprised Ashley didn’t kill her…LOL. Kyla finishes getting dressed just as we hear the doorbell. We both sigh and walk out of the bedroom. I walk into the kitchen and notice Ashley starting to loose color. She seems to do that every time she’s either beyond nervous or terrified. I think in this instance she’s probably both. I walk up to her, grab her hand, give her a soft kiss and whisper, “Breathe, baby. It’ll be okay. Everything is going to go great.”
She exhales the breathe she had obviously been holding and tries to smile. Tries is the operative word. I walk to the front door and quickly open it. Standing there was not my parents but a woman that was probably Ashley mother. There was a strong resemblance. She had brown eyes that seemed to be so empty, curly brown hair, an okay complexion for someone that old and she was impeccably dressed. I smile warmly and say, “Mrs. Davies?”

You know it is really nice to be able to get on here and have the post waiting it can get very frustrating when ur wanting to know what happens but the author never posts…anyway keep up the good work…PMS

Awesome update. Paula really surprised me since I thought that she would be the one to cause the drama, but I’ve been wrong before. She really mellowed out and Christine was such a bitch to Ashley. I was glad that Spencer kicked Christine out and that Paula accepted Ashley. PMASAP.
WOW what a bitch Christine actually is..poor Ash and what she had to go through. And what was up with Paula Carlin being all nice and sweet? lol I’m liking that version of Paula. Well seeing that Ash had convinced Paula that Spence could have a nice wedding and children, do we maybe see a marriage proposal in the near future? I’m kind of hoping just a bit =) Anyways you always know how to put a smile on my face when it comes to your updates because there the first thing I read when I see them. Well I’m sure I’ve said this a couple of times but you have got to be one of the best writers on this board. Everyone of your stories rock and look foward to more great ones in the future…Ok well keep going with this story because its one of my favorites! PMASAP

ashley finally got her courage and told christine off and spencer probably would have flipped her lid and done a lot worse to the woman if ash didn’t come in at that exact moment. Paula opening up to ash was great, she likes ash and not allison which is a good thing now maybe things can start getting better for ashley pms
That, was awesome! Paula is great, I’m glad she’s accepting Spencer and Ashley. Christine, one word, bitch. How can she treat someone like that, her own daughter. I completely agree with everything AugustLove said. Great update.
*sighs* I love them together. I love how they defend each other. Man, you make me wish I had a girlfriend. Geez, why don’t I have one? *smile*. Now, how much does Christine suck? To actually admit that you don’t love your child and then in the same breath try and say that it’s her “obligation” to take care of her. If I was Ashley, I would give her the absolutely minimum to survive. No trips to Paris. No shopping sprees. She would be put on a mere stipend enough for living and food! I felt so bad for Ashley. I did wonder if Kyla got this same treatment from Christine. Hmmm. And oh yeah, I love how Ashley was able to change Paula’s mind. So cool. Love how they sleep naked together … so adorable. Thank you for rocking my morning (you know I was so happy to see it there. ready and waiting. you’re the best!). Now I must get ready for work. Thanks for the inspiration. Much love.
This post was great!!! I’m glad Spencer kicked Christine out. I wish she would have done it sooner! I really liked Paula and Arthur, they were cool about the whole situation. The exorcist thing was really funny and all of the little endearing interactions between Spence and Ash are adorable! pms because I don’t know how i could go on without this story!!! Really, Really wonderful-especially that last part, it brought a tear to my eye…!!

God what a bitch and talk about rude. Good thing Spencer threw the bitch out. And Spencer and Ashley are so sweet together. Loved this update cause for once they catch a break with Paula =) PMASAP!!!!
