    Author Notes:

    I just shut my eyes, take a deep breath and begin to tell her my story.

    “Lie down with me. Please.” She pleads as she extends her hand to me

    I just nod and climb in to bed with her. Like last night, as soon as I was next to her, she moves to put her head on my chest and snuggles in to me. She sighs contently when I wrap my arms around her and begin to rub her back.

    After a few minutes of comfortable silence I begin my interrogation when I ask softly, “Ash baby, please tell me what happened?”

    I immediately tense up and my heart starts beating fast when I hear her question. She just holds me tighter and softly commands, “Talk to me, Ashley. I’m not going to let this go.”

    “It’s a long story, Spencer. Do you really want to hear it?” I whisper

    “Yes, I do. I want to know everything.” She says firmly

    I just shut my eyes, take a deep breath and begin to tell her my story.

    “When I was 14 I began being promiscuous and taking drugs. I was a complete mess. I did it to fill the void I felt in my life. I didn’t feel anybody really loved or gave a damn about me. My father was always working on his music and my mother was never there. Dad toured and Mom was always running off to different places around the world with her newest boy toy. So I was left alone to raise myself. My mom was and is a complete bitch. She doesn’t give a damn about. The only thing she ever liked about me was that because of me she has the lifestyle she loves. I did see Dad every now and then and the time I did spend with him was always so special because for those few hours he’d dedicate to me I felt like he really did love me. It just wasn’t enough. I did the drug and sex thing for two years.”

    Spencer interrupts me when she asks, “Didn’t you have other family or friends?”

    “I was a rebel when I was in school and would push away anybody that got too close to me. I was terrified of letting anybody get close enough to hurt me. As far as family no. Well, I did but I didn’t know about it. You see I didn’t find out about my sister Kyla till after my Dad died.” I explain
