    a pitch to be done

    Her beautiful eyes snapped open and met mine in a breathtaking stare, “No fair,” she pouted, reaching for me again in an attempt to recapture my lips.

    “No time,” I corrected, pulling further away from her but keeping my body firmly attached to hers. She sighed and dropped her head back onto the pillow, her eyes never leaving mine. I could see the early morning desire in them that I recognised from all those years before, when an ‘early start’ soon became a ‘late for work’ due to finding alternatives to leaving the bed to get dressed. I blushed despite myself.

    We continued to stare intently at one another, not feeling the need to speak but comfortable in sharing the same breathing space.

    “Good morning,” she whispered. I could feel her exhale the words on my skin.

    “Hello,” I countered, my eyes flicking to her lips, only to return to her eyes once more.

    “Do we really have to go to work today?” she asked, her tone begging me to let us stay in bed for just a bit longer.

    “Afraid so,” I said gently, disappointed that our night had come to an end, but still content and blushing from the afterglow of an amazing evening.

    “Pity,” she pouted, “I had other ideas for how I wanted to spend the day.”

    A slender leg rose between mine, a toned thigh meeting with a still-sensitive region that had received a vast amount of attention from her the night before. My eyes closed involuntarily and a sigh passed my lips as she applied more pressure into me.

    “What’s the time?” she asked as though she wasn’t lighting fireworks in my nervous system.

    “Early,” I whispered, finding my hips to have a mind of their own as they slowly rocked on the thigh she had presented me with.

    “But not early enough,” she frowned, kissing me chastely before removing her leg from its most advantageous of positions. I groaned in frustration and rolled off of her and onto my back, before she deftly turned and placed her head on my chest, her right arm coming to rest around me. “Last night…”

    “Was amazing,” I finished, gently kissing her forehead. She nodded.

    “I never remembered it being that unbelievably earth-shattering before,” I felt her cheeks flush against my cool chest, and again I kissed her forehead.
