Chapter 2

This chapter will go back and forth between Ashley and Spencer, so you can get to know both of their family lives. Later on I think each chapter will be only one character’s point of view

 Spencer walked in her house to find that no one was home besides her dog Parker. That meant that for the third time that week she would have to take Parker on his walk. She knew it would be like that for a while because she was the only one that was really not making any progress in the friend’s category at King High. It’s not like she was begging for friends, but it did feel nice sometimes to have someone to confide in. But sad thoughts could not change anything. She walked to the door and led Parker out.

At the same moment Ashley was just getting home picking up Kali from school. Her mother had given birth to Kali seven years ago and had only spent about seven minutes with the girl the whole seven years. Kali was the product of one of her mother’s one night stands. Ashley was more of a mother then her mother would ever be, but it never bothered her. She loved Kali more then anyone else in her life and she was the only person this girl ever had to call family.

“Ash can I please, please, watch TV?” Kali asked already knowing the answer. Everyday after school she would ask to watch TV and everyday Ashley would say…

“Let’s see. Can young Miss Kali watch TV without first cleaning her room or doing her homework? Umm does young Miss Kali know the answer?” Ashley looked at Kali and smiled.

Kali frowned then turned and headed up the stairs. “Yea, yea, yea, I know. I’ll do my homework.”

Ashley walked into the kitchen to find something to order for dinner. She tried to make a home cooked meal once for Kali and the kitchen nearly burned down. The police gave her a warning to never cook again and she never tried after that. She was looking in the kitchen drawer when she heard a thump then a scream.

 Spencer had just made it home when her father walked into the house.
