Ashley: “Wow, this is a full service hotel!” He chuckles lightly.

Concierge: “Well, for Ms. Davies, I’d do anything.” He smiles warmly at me and I return the gesture.

Ashley: “That was some quick thinking!”

Concierge: “Are you serious? I hear them all working here!” He hands me back my American Express card and I slide a bill across the desk over to him. “Oh no, I couldn’t.”

Ashley: “Please, something tells me I will be needing your services again!”

Breakfast was as pleasant as dinner was last night. We all chatted idly and Paula even started a few conversations with me about my classes and my life before college.

I was a freaking rockstar!

I said all the right things at all the right times and both she and Mr. C were eating out of the palm of my hand by the time all the eggs and pancakes were through.

We showed them around campus and they met Veronica when we got back to Spencer’s room. They even wanted to see my dorm and met Aiden and Kyla.

Both seemed really interested in my sister and best friend and invited them to dinner along with Veronica.

Paula: “Okay, we are going to head on over to the student union for the tutorial on planning for your future. But it will only be an hour and then we’ll head out to dinner. Sound good?” She looks to Spencer, then to me, then to Aiden and Kyla.

Spencer: “Sounds great, mom.” She gives Spencer a sideways hug which she returns.

Arthur: “Okay, see you kids soon.” He too gives Spencer a hug and then they exit my dorm. I let the air rush through my pursed lips before I flop back onto my bed.

Spencer joins me and snuggles up and before you know it two heads pop down to look at us from the top bunk.

Aiden: “So, it went well then?” They look at me expectantly and I smile.

Ashley: “I think it’s going pretty wel
l. What do you think?” I turn to ask Spencer.

Spencer: “She’s killing it!”

Kyla: “They seem really nice, Spence.”

Spencer: “Thanks. I just hope my mom stays that way when I tell her about Ashley and me.” I kiss her on her forehead and hold her closer to me.

Ashley: “Fourteen hours to go, Spencer, just fourteen hours.”

Spencer: “I’m not so much worried about tomorrow as I am tonight.”

Aiden: “So you’re telling her tonight then? At dinner?”

Spencer: “Well, she can’t kill me if there are witnesses!”

Aiden: “Well if you’re telling her tonight then you should totally wear the pantsuit, Ash, it’s hard to kill someone when they’re wearing a pantsuit!”

Kyla: “And glasses, wear the glasses!”

Ashley: “Well if the pantsuit doesn’t stop her at least you can bury me in it!”

Kyla: “Oh Ashley, don’t be so dramatic!”

Aiden: “Yeah, she won’t react that badly, will she Spence?” I look over and Spencer and her face is full of doubt.

Ashley: “This is just great, I’m going to die in a pantsuit!”

Spencer: “At least you’ll look sexy!”

Ashley: “Awesome, I’ll be a sexy corpse!” She kisses me on the nose.

Spencer: “You’ll be my sexy corpse!” I smile at her and we kiss sweetly.

Aiden: “I don’t know, Ash, maybe you shouldn’t wear the pantsuit then, I would hate to see you get blood on it.”

Funny, I don’t hear anyone saying that they will stop my death from happening! Why all of a sudden am I not looking forward to dinner?!
