“I don’t want it to be like this.” She says walking back to her room and placing my bag down and sitting on the bed. I follow suit. “It’s just that I’ve gone through this before and it didn’t end so well.” She gives me look as if I already know.

“Aiden.” I say, meeting her eyes.

“Yeah. You really want to know the story?” She asks with a concerned look.

“Only if you’re comfortable telling me.”

Ashley lays back on her bed and takes a deep breath. “Well it all started back in high school. I met him during freshman year. He seemed cool and everything, but I didn’t think anything of it. But of course, me being me and the daughter of a rock star, I got into pretty heavy shit, which you apparently have already heard.” I take her hand and give her a reassuring smile, letting her know that I don’t care what I’ve heard. She returns the smile and continues. “I went through a lot of hard times, and a lot of friends during high school, but the only one who seemed to always be by my side was Aiden, we became practically inseparable. But then one night, junior year, we were at a party, and we were both pretty wasted. I called my driver to come get us.” After she said driver, I give her an unbelieving look. “Yes, I know, my driver. But anyway, Aiden ended up coming to my house because his parents would have been pissed if they saw him drunk. So, we’re in my room, hanging out, about to fall asleep and Aiden and I began to reminisce over the two years we’ve known each other and everything we’ve been through. It was when we started to get into detail that I realized how much he meant to me and from the way he sounded then I meant a lot to him too. We grew silent and before I knew it his hand was brushing my cheek. I looked up to see a weird look in his eye. I asked him what was wrong and at first he didn’t say anything so I asked him again. He just looked at me and said ‘I love you.’”
