The Grown Up Years – (Chapter: Chapter 1: The Hunt)
"Ashley!!! Get up. We have to meet with the realtor in an hour."
"I’m awake," I said with my eyes still closed.
"Ash, come on. You know this is important and you’re not even taking it serious."
"Ughh. You always have to make me feel so guilty," I said as she lazily got off the comfy bed and headed to bathroom to get dressed.
Spencer smiled to herself, knowing that she had the power to make Ashley do pretty much whatever she wanted. "Thanks babe. I’ll be waiting for you downstairs."
As Ashley looked at herself in the mirror she couldn’t help but look miserable. She loved Spencer, but today was gonna be rough. It’s the first day of house hunting, and with Spencer being such a perfectionist this was going to be difficult, and expensive. But it’s not like we couldn’t afford any of the houses, with me owning her own record company and Spencer being a well known director. I’m just worried Spencer will kill me for not "being into the process."
Forty minutes later I finally came slumping down the stairs dressed in a simple pair of jeans and Kiss t-shirt, with my hair up in a messy bun. I looked down and saw Spencer on the couch reading the paper. She was wearing a simple sundress, but she looked amazing. How did she always look so beautiful without even trying?
"Finally. Lets get going so were not late," said Spencer as she stood up from her spot on the couch and headed to the door of their apartment.
"But I haven’t even gotten anything to eat," I said as I put on my best puppy dog face.
"Well hopefully that will teach you to wake up earlier," said Spencer as she grabbed my waist and pulled me out the door.

"Where the hell are we going?"
"Oh ya, I forgot to tell you we’re not meeting the realtor at her office. We’re meeting her at one of the houses," said Spencer.
"Ok good," I thought to myself. That will keep us from wasting a good half an hour.
As we pulled up to the first house it looked alright….It was nothing special. Just your typical big house. As Spencer and I walked through the front door I was unimpressed. It was plain and boring, which is not my type. All the walls were covered in the most boring shade up white imaginable, and the carpets were all red. We didn’t even bother to look at the second floor.
