The Grown Up Years – (Chapter: Chapter 1: The Hunt)
"So, I think it’s pretty obvious that me and Spencer both want the house. But, how much is it gonna cost us?"
"Well it’s just under 2.1 million," said the realtor.
My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I heard this. Out budget was 3 million, so this was perfect.
"Well take it!" I said forgetting the Spencer liked to voice her opinion, even if it was the same as mine.
"Ash, don’t you think we should talk about this first?"
"Spence you and I both know this house is perfect. Baby, we have to put in offer in before someone else does," I said I put my hands around her waist and gave her a tender kiss.
"Whatever you say," she said giving me a light smile.
I turned back to the realtor and told her to put in offer in on the house.
"Great. I’ll probably be calling you tomorrow to let you know if you’ll get it or not," she said.

That night I was restless. I couldn’t sleep because I was so nervous about the house. If didn’t get it I know I’ll be crying myself to sleep every night for the next year, and I don’t think I could take another day of house hunting. Ughhh.
"Babe are you alright? You keep moving around," said Spencer.
"Ya. I just keep thinking about the house," I said.
"Babe I know you’re worried that we won’t get it, but I know we will. That house was made for us," she said as she rubbed small gentle circles on my back and placed light kisses on my neck.
She knew that her gentle touches always helped me sleep and sure enough I was out within the next five minutes.

I woke up the next morning around noon. As I walked downstairs I saw Spencer hanging up the phone and jumping up and down frantically. When she saw me at the bottom of the stairs she ran over and tackled me to the ground. Once she had me pinned she gave the hottest kiss I have ever gotten. I don’t think I’ve even been this turned on in my life. When she finally pulled back from this kiss I was finally able to get a good look at her and realized she was pretty much glowing.
"What’s going on?" I said, still a little dazed from the kiss.
"We got the house!" she screamed at the top of her lungs.
If I was standing up I would’ve done a back flip. I was so excited I couldn’t even believe it. Having this house was gonna be great, and not just because of the pool, the movie room, or the huge shower. But, because it meant I could finally bring up my "thoughts" with Spencer. Before it wasn’t really an option we were still living in an apartment and hadn’t been married very long. But it’s been a year and a half now and we’re buying a house. So it’s the perfect time to tell her what I’m thinking. And the "thoughts" I’m having are not just any "thoughts", but they’re "thoughts" that are gonna change out lives forever. I’m gonna tell her that I’m ready to have kids.
