The Least I Can Do – (Chap. 4)
Spencer ran back to her house with a huge smile plastered on her face. She worked on her lesson plan and ran her errands like she was supposed to, making one extra stop to pick up a single white rose to give Ashley later that day.
Spencer started getting ready for her date at about 5:30, and she had all intentions of looking drop dead gorgeous. Spencer jumped in the shower and went through her normal routine getting ready. It toke her about five try’s to pick the right outfit, but when she finally figured it out, she look nothing short of amazing. She was wearing a long sleeve, black dress, which had a turtle neck, and it stopped just above her mid thigh. She added a large white belt around the waist making the outfit appear almost as if she was wearing a black mini and black blouse. Never one to follow stupid rules about white and Labor Day she completed the look with white pointy toed pumps and white hoop earrings. She toke extra time doing her make up and styling her beautiful honey locks. When she was finally finished she looked in the mirror pleased with herself and winked. This was going to be the first time Ashley saw Spencer not in running gear and she was going to make it count.
In the mean time across town Ashley had promised herself she was going to be the normal confident Ashley Davies, who could charm the pants off any girl, no really it didn’t take much for Ashley get any girl on a date or in bed for that matter. And while Ashley was trying to leave her love them and leave them ways in LA, she was still shocked at her own reaction to Spencer. She was not used to the feelings she was having, and didn’t know how to handle them. Ashley, who had the small flaw of spending too much time in front of the mirror, was still getting ready at 6:50. She was wearing faded black straight legged jeans, a small white t-shirt, with a black vest with gray pin striping on top. She topped it off with black heals and a thin black tie.
Spencer feeling very anxious slipped on her white mid length pea coat, grabbed Ashley jacket that she planed on actually giving her this time, and the rose she was also going to give Ashley. She got in her gun melt grey(yeah that’s a color) Jeta and headed to Ashley’s house. Spencer stepped out of her car and walked slowly up to Ashley’s door, taking deep breaths as she went, butterflies whirling around in her stomach. Spencer reached the door and rang the door bell. After a few moments Ashley had still not answered so Spencer, becoming even more nervous, rang the bell again. Again nothing, she could hear music playing inside and decided she would just open the door, thinking maybe Ashley couldn’t hear the bell. She opened the large wooden door, Roxi was wagging her tail on the other side. Spencer smiled at her and patted her on the head. She could hear Jim Morrison’s voice singing Light My Fire echoing through the house. Spencer called Ashley’s name and peaked in the living room, but she wasn’t there. Spencer called for Ashley again, this time up the stairs.
