The Least I Can Do – (Chap. 4)
Spencer: “Well, I’m glad you are alright, and I’m very glad you decided to move to New York, otherwise I would not have had the chance to meet you.” Spencer said looking into Ashley chocolate brown eyes.
Ashley: “I’m glad I moved here too, I just lucky you weren’t already dating someone. I was sure when I meet you that you would have a boyfriend or girlfriend.”
Spencer: “Well, I’ve been on a few dates here, most of them being the kind of first dates you would never want to relive.” Spencer said chuckling, remembering one in particular. “I did end up meeting my best friend Gina, after she asked me out though. We went out on one date and it toke us one kiss to realize we were much more like sisters, than girlfriends.” Spencer said laughing remembering that awkward kiss.
Ashley: “I can’t tell you I’m upset it didn’t work out.” Ashley said with a smile.
The waiter than came up to the table and asked if the two would like dessert. Ashley looked to Spencer questioning her with her eyes, as to if she wanted dessert or not. Spencer shook her no to Ashley.
Ashley: “No, I think that’s all for us this evening.” Ashley answered.
The waiter left the check on the table, and let them know he’d be back in a few minutes to pick it up. Ashley insisted that Spencer let her pay, sighting the fact that she was the one who asked Spencer to dinner. Spencer loved how sweet Ashley was being and obliged Ashley’s wishes to let her pay for their meals.
Once again on the way out the brunette held the door for the blonde, and once again the blonde toke Ashley’s arm as they walked to the car, the second time with a bit more confidence than the first. They two were getting more comfortable with one and other, and it wasn’t long before they were both rocking out to their favorite Kings songs in the car. They were laughing, singing and have a great time with each other. Ashley had wanted to take Spencer’s hand in her own, but couldn’t one of the down sides of a stick shift. The ride went almost too quick for the pair, stealing glances at one another. Where Nobody Knows, which is a slower song, came on in the car as they were approaching Ashley’s house. Spencer stopped singing and listened to Ashley’s beautiful singing voice, thinking that the girl beside her couldn’t possibly be more perfect.
