The One Who Changed My World – (Chapter: 9)
“Hey Angela,” he says nervously.
“Hi,” she says coldly, still pretending like she’s mad at him
“Is it okay, if I sit here?” he stumbles over his words. “Because if not I could find another table, or maybe just leave. I mean I don’t really dance anyways so it’s not that big of a deal and you were here first and I wouldn’t want to intrude and it looks like it’s girls night and I’m the odd man out and I’m going to stop talking now.”
We all just stare at him a little dumbfounded. I’ve never seen Aiden like that; he usually sweeps girls off of their feet with his charm. “It’s okay Aiden, you can stay,” Angela says a little less coldly, but still not overly friendly. He sits down in the booth next to her but doesn’t get too close. Spencer and I keep the conversation going for a few minutes so it’s not intensely awkward with my rambling wreck of a best friend.
“I’ll be right back,” Aiden says abruptly during a pause in the conversation. All three of us look at each other wondering what has gotten into him to make him so speechless.
“Ang, are you going to end his agony any time soon?” Spencer asks.
“I don’t know,” she replies honestly. “He’s so cute when he’s nervous. Wait he really has no idea that I know about you two?”
“Not a clue,” I said before Aiden returns with a tray full of drinks.
“I thought we could use some drinks,” he says with a nervous chuckle. “I know I could. Ash, I got your usual Cape Codder, and Sex on the Beach for you Spencer, and Grey Goose, raspberry martini for you Angela.” He looks up at her slightly, awaiting her reaction.
“How did you know I drink that?” she asks with a stunned look on her face.
“Oh, I thought you liked it,” he replied stumbling over his words again. “I can get you something else if you don’t like it. I just remembered you ordered it on our um, date, I guess if you can call it that before I screwed it up. I’m sorry I should have asked you first, that was so rude and chauvinistic of me. I’ll take it back,” he rambles as he reaches for her drink.
