I quickly released her hand, having forgotten I was holding it, “Oh, wow, I’m so sor-“

She cut me off once again, but this time by kissing my cheek and whispering into my ear, “We can hold hands again once we’re in your car.”  I could hear the smile and the laughter she was holding back in her voice as she moved away, “So which one is yours?”

I blinked a few times, “Uh… um… the uh… Prius.”

”Fitting.”

I slowly followed after her until she moved to the passenger door and I went to the driver side.  I unlocked the car with my key fob opening the driver’s door, throwing my back into the back, and getting in, shutting the door behind me.  I put my seat belt on and started the car and made sure her seat belt was on before I pulled out of the parking spot and put the car in drive.  The second after my hand released the shift, she took my hand in hers and intertwined our fingers.  Causing my foot that was lifting off the break to slam down again which made the car jerk.

”You ok?”

I felt my face flare up as I coughed and spluttered, “Ugh-uh-yeah just uh… slipped?”

”Mhm.”

I glanced over at her and saw the she was smirking.  I tried to focus on driving again as I carefully and slowly lifted my foot up off the pedal.  It was slow going the entire time as she gave me directions.  I made sure to avoid the popular streets making what should have been a five to ten minute drive, a half an hour drive.  She probably could have skateboarded there a lot faster, but she didn’t say a word.  When we finally got there, I pulled up to the front and released her hand to put the car in park to let her get out.

”You wanna come with me?  You can see that you got real lucky landing a stud like me.”

I laughed, “Sure, why not?”

I put the car back in drive and found a parking spot and parked.  We both got out, but she only brought her skateboard with her, leaving the rest of her stuff in my car, but I didn’t say anything.  As soon as we were both around my car and next to each other, she took my hand and intertwined our fingers once again.
